This article fit the thread to a tee. Best testimonial to German quality, so some will say.

BUT I have to say my 10 years of owning 2 German make is absolutely trouble-free. So luck at play sometimes?

Oh Nein! Audi’s New A5 Avant Breaks Down On The Nurburgring

Audi’s upcoming A5 Avant has suffered a setback as a prototype broke down on the Nürburgring.

Details are limited, but our spy photographer tells us that the wagon was tackling the green hell when an unknown issue arose. It’s not entirely clear what transpired, but something occurred shortly before the Caracciola-Carousel section of the Nordschleife and forced the car to pull over to the side of the track.

The issue appears to have been serious enough that a tow truck was dispatched to bring the car back to Audi’s development center. Regardless of what caused the breakdown, accidents happen and it’s better for them to occur in the prototype stage than when the vehicle is in production.

I think alot of High End German Cars used Handphone to Lock & Unlock Cars,time to change to Vertu Platinum Phone.

Now a Life of a New model is abt 3 years ,Face Lift/Pre F.L not withstanding.

Many of us have been Using Sushi / Kimchi cars for all our Life & with dat windfall or a promotion u reckon u can Crossover to  dat

You are too serious. I look at the list with a pinch of salt.

But some things are true. German cars in the past really can run forever if properly taken care.

Now a lot of unproven tech and mechanical designs are in their cars. And when parts fail and they do fail early it is at the expense of the car owner. Car nuts are now going back to old cars like classic Porsche and merc. They are doing restomod on these cars because they are actually better build with less problems than modern cars. You dont need the digital stuff in the car and just enjoy the drive. 

Funny thing is car buyers are attracted by many and large digital screens in the car. As if their iphone ipad are not enough, need more screens in their faces. Nobody look at what's underneath the hood.

Restomod done on classic Porsche that still have the air-cooled engine I see it is quite the trend on YT. Most famous is the company called Singer. For classic merc I know ppl can still order parts from the car maker in Germany. 

For classic bmw the E30 M3 is popular in the US.

They are all stripped out and performance focus cars restored to mint conditions. Not necessary all original parts, most have modern touches to the interior and engines.
