With this gen , it might split with the alphard like the third gen Lexus rx and harrier

Unlikely to be full split. This is timed exactly at the 7 year model age of the existing Alphard/Vellfire which are supposed to have new model into in June.

Note that existing LM was only intro in 2019, so only 4 years old.

But LM will probably get its own full set unique external panels, like the difference between LandCruiser300 and the Lexus LX.

Turbocharged

I saw it on the road a few days ago, it was a Johor plate

glossy paint and plenty of road presence

won't mistaken it as a Toyota

This Luxury Mover fit its name to a tee. [thumbsup] The Mercedes V-Class look pale in comparison.

At Auto Shanghai 2023, Lexus celebrated the world premiere of the all-new Lexus LM. Beginning with the key luxury MPV market of China, the second-generation LM will be launched in over 60 countries worldwide, including for the first time in Europe and Lexus's home market of Japan.

The first-generation Lexus LM was launched in 2020 as a response to customer aspirations for chauffeur-driven MPV's in China and other parts of Asia. Offering both 4-seat and 7-seat configurations, the vehicle was well received by a wide range of customers. In the intervening years, the needs and desires of the global luxury market have further intensified and diversified. In response, the new LM has been completely redesigned, reevaluating its value and raison d'être as a "Luxury Mover," from where the model's name is derived.

The exterior design projects an elegant presence and aerodynamic form in keeping with the Lexus design language, the vehicle's lines reflecting function and dynamic performance. In the interior, the front cabin design combines practicality with refinement to allow drivers to focus, while the spacious rear suite offers meticulously crafted seats and trim alongside a variety of features and technology to make the most of passengers' precious travel time.

Highlights

  • Ride Comfort: "AVS Suspension with Frequency-Sensitive Piston Valve", which combines an Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) actuator and a frequency-sensitive piston valve in the shock absorber. The system provides excellent ride quality regardless of speed, by meticulously dampening and reducing vibration over a wide range of frequencies. "Rear Comfort" drive mode enables an emphasis on rear-seat comfort. The dampening force characteristics of the AVS are set to prioritize rear-seat comfort, while integrated control of the gas pedal and brake reduces posture changes during acceleration and deceleration.
  • Quietness: Noise frequency bandwidths and noise sources were analyzed, resulting in a 3-step approach to noise reduction: reducing generated noise (source noise), preventing noise from entering the vehicle (sound insulation), and reducing noise inside the vehicle (sound absorption). Source noise reduction focused mainly on road noise and wind noise. In addition to the specific countermeasures for road noise around the tires and for wind noise around the hood and pillars, acoustic glass was used to help reduce high-frequency wind noise. The engine, one of the primary sources of noise and vibration, and the related mounts, which amplify the vibration, received thorough tuning. Also, cabin noise was greatly reduced by placing carefully calculated amounts and thicknesses of sound-absorbing, sound-insulating, and vibration-damping materials in appropriate places throughout the vehicle.

  • spacious interior combining comfort and convenience: In the front seats, a modern and spacious interior incorporates the Lexus Tazuna Cockpit concept, complemented by the simple instrument panel and console that create an environment where the driver can concentrate on driving. The 6- and 7-seat versions focus on a spacious feel and excellent visibility, with expansive trim and overhead consoles throughout the cabin to create a personal feel for all passengers. The 4-seat model raises the level of personalization and privacy, featuring a partition equipped with a striking 48-inch wide-screen display in front of the rear seats. A retractable glass partition above the display separates the front and rear compartments while offering a clear forward view, and assist grips provide easy entry and exit. The speakers, refrigerator, storage compartments, and other functions are integrated into the design elements, while great care has been taken to minimize the panel gaps between components. The side window graphics are also simple rectangles, and every component of the interior has been designed to reduce visual noise, resulting in a relaxing environment for all passengers. Additionally, large independent seats comfortably envelope the body, with the aim of providing a sense of comfort that frees the body and mind the moment the person sits down.

Quick Specs

  • External Dimensions: 5,125mm (L) x 1,890mm (W) x 1,955mm (H)

Look more luxurious than business class seats. A second to none luxury MPV which might win over towkays who are used to be chauffeured around in their S class, 7 series, or even Bentley and RR.

$510K (without COE) for the LM350, which put it in the same price category as the entry level S450L!! But I am sure it will sell like hot cake, catering to the need for space of the rich towkay.

Lexus LM, uber-luxurious seven-seater MPV, launched in SG

The new luxurious MPV was unveiled to members of the media on 6 October 2023 right next to Lexus Singapore's VIP Lounge - a new private suite designed to elevate the customer experience in the showroom - and even saw its Chief Engineer, Mr. Takami Yokoo, gracing the event and hosting a mini Q&A session.

Initially conceptualised to meet demand for chauffeur-driven MPVs in China and other parts of Asia, the LM is unambiguous about its identity and purpose - and this starts right from its name, which abbreviates the term 'Luxury Mover'. Despite being new to Singapore, this is also actually already the second generation of the LM, which is now getting a far wider release (Europe is getting the model for the first time too).

With its 2023 debut, the all-new LM carries Lexus' current 'Spindle Body' design philosophy that we first saw on the latest RX. It's not just the immensity of the body-coloured large grille - but its appearance of gradually fading out as it rises to meet the bonnet - that ensures it looks like nothing else from the firm and also on the road. Beyond that, however, the LM's striking presence also comes from its sheer size: It's 5,125mm long, 1,890mm wide, and a whopping 1,955mm tall (this height also means you'll have to watch out and avoid driving to older carparks in Singapore).

Private jets were apparently one source of inspiration for the car's concept; the MPV's interior was also designed to be as relaxing as one's living room, while also bringing extra convenience by functioning as a 'mobile office'. Rather than overwhelm occupants visually, Lexus also said it intentionally opted for more muted palettes; the two interior colour options are either Solis White (with copper accents), or Black (with grey tone gradations). Meanwhile, a balanced mixture of horizontal and vertical lines, and the application of Yanabe patterns (a herringbone woodgrain) help create the atmosphere of a luxurious lounge.

It's worth noting that the LM's local launch only includes the seven-seater for now, which - although not as extreme in its luxury as the four-seater (with its 48-inch screen) - is still thoroughly sumptuous. (Interestingly, this marks Lexus' first seven-seater here too since the RX 350L - a very different sort of car.)

The Lexus LM rides on the latest-generation GA-K platform, which gives the car high torsional rigidity, and helps to reduce vibration. In the single '350h AWD' powertrain variant offered at launch, a 2.5-litre hybrid drivetrain musters 247bhp, and sends this power variably to all four wheels.

One unique feature of the LM, however - and one that you probably won't find in other cars - is a dedicated 'Rear Comfort' Drive Mode. This relies on Lexus' (also) all-new 'AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension) with Frequency-Sensitive Piston Valve', which apparently ensures excellent ride quality regardless of speed by dampening and reducing vibration over a wide range of frequencies.

Expectedly, the LM is likely to come only into the hands of those with the deepest pockets. This seven-seater variant launches with a half-a-million-dollar price tag before COE - staggering even by Lexus standards - and the even more-luxurious four-seater variant is set to take this figure up a few notches further when it eventually arrives. (Lexus Singapore is targeting a Q1 2024 launch.)
