Poor paint job by One Garage & Colour

My MIL will see the difference and cannot sleep at night!

I think same same as TS.

hmm..... maybe i am an old man with poor eyesight... else the camera you are using is of poor grade... there is really no diff. If you are really so upset about it then suggest you re-spray the whole car.

Truth is...maybe 99.9% of the people on the road would not be able to notice and would not bother (cos not their car).

At night, no naked eye can tell.

Special colour probably means they don't stock the colour in their workshop. 

If I'm not wrong, they have special paint mixing tools that tell them the colour and proportion to mix in to get the desired paint code.

To TS, I think the difference is very negligent.

I won't say that there is totally no different because one part is metal and the other is plastic/polycarbonate; one part is stock paint from factory, while the other is freshly painted. 

Furthermore, the mixture of the ultimate paint colour by the spray painting workshop might not be EXACTLY the same proportion as per the factory's mixture.

Nowadays almost every car paint shade is a mixture of different proportions of a couple or a few colours; the workshop would know the mixture and proportion of the different colours to derive at the ultimate colour or shade; however their paint mixture machines might not match it to the EXACT same standard and proportion as the factory ones. I saw in some car spray painting workshops that sometimes mixture of paints are done by mechanics using their knowledge and judgment. Anything done by humans is subjected to a certain margin of error or deviation, no matter how minute.

So ultimately take into consideration the above factors and variants, the final colour can be very close to the original but may not exactly match the original.

But give a few more days for the fresh paint to settle in, probably whatever difference you see now will be even narrower...

Any combination of the above will produce paint tone difference, either minor or major (super obvious) if the workshop follows car chassis paint code. 

By the way, there are some workshops that produce shite work even if you don't bargain. I experienced once and I will never go back to that shop again.

Yah lah, in fact the color from the photo is quite off, the actual color might be worse. Dont be so harsh to others especially new members.

Another point to take note,BMW Factory are using Water-Based Paint,While our Workshops are using Solvent Based Paint,so that may have a difference.

U paint top to btm.

Still got inside and outside.

Normally when u paint whole car is outside nia.

U open door. U still see different paint texture.🤣

TS must be very fussy kind.

If top and bottom not same same he not happy!

Don't know how many he check the top and bottom and never reach his high expectations!
