Screening process needs tightening also no use if the person after becoming teacher then got radicalized

Screening itself may not be able to sift out these elements.

He is already 38. Probably he has already been in service for more than 10 years. He may not have such motive during recruitment and during earlier service. He could have self radicalised later.

Not all religions lah.

I never hear Zen Buddhist do any terror.

All of them just sitting quietly somewhere only.

:D

Peace is the fruit of truth.

Terror is the fruit of deception.

Just now, Volvobrick said:

Can just deport him to Syria? And take away his citizenship.

That requires a change of constitution. Do you trust them enough to do that for local-born citizen?

The post-secondary student started watching YouTube videos in 2020 by foreign extremist preachers such as Zakir Naik, who has been barred from entering Singapore since 2014.

This is what I am talk about. The individual's interpretation of the religious text or some ppl called "false preacher".

And he is right next door.

Where is doctor Zakir Naik now?

Indian fugitive Zakir Naik, a televangelist, reportedly left India in 2016 and moved to Malaysia, where he was granted permanent residency.

for those who want to join ISIS and caliphate etc, my solution is to give them what they want.

send them to Syria or wherever their ISIS buddies are, and stripped them of their citizenship.

That guy is convinced, anyone who does not think or believe like him, he has to kill, that is dangerous too.

You don't let this of people run around free in a civilized society.

Make them as an example, and others may think twice.

I get your point.

It is a dangerous move to allow MIW to strip a local-born citizen of its citizenship.

Nowadays, no amount of examples will help with punishment ONLY.

The case of Shamima Begum.

https://www.bbc.com/news/explainers-53428191

Shamima Begum: How can you lose your citizenship?

A woman who left the UK as a teenager to join the Islamic State (IS) group is challenging the removal of her British citizenship by the UK government.

A special hearing to consider the case of Shamima Begum was held in November 2022 and a decision is expected at a later date.

Ms Begum, now 23, is one of three east London schoolgirls who travelled to Syria in 2015 to support the IS group.

She was born in the UK to parents of Bangladeshi heritage and was 15 when she left.

Her citizenship was stripped on national security grounds in 2019.
