How much capacity is it at now? Maybe there's some misunderstanding.

Are the vents block? Try not to use the term "overload". In aircon or fridge it means there is some ice formation where there shouldnt be. Cos when the aircon man or fridge repair man hears the term "overload"  it is not the fridge stuff with too many things. To them it means the vents are blocked and the compressor is working overtime. You are actually overloading the compressor.

Sensor or not I dunno. Cos now the beeping seems so general now, LoL. Too cold could be a problem too.

It's not a capacity issue. Period.

If the fridge is overloaded, air circulation starts to get impaired and u get some areas where it becomes very cold while the thermostat is still registering a higher temperature. I suspect what happens is that u start to get ice formation over the hidden cooling fins, then it will just manifest itself as inability to keep the compartments cool at temperature. Condensation will start to form.
Usually u will need to completely stop the refrigeration. Allow whatever ice is formed inside the vents to melt away over few hrs or 1 day, then restart it back up (provided your fan motor didn't overload or what).

I've overloaded my fridges before, so I'm quite familiar with the process.

The beeping is just the door open alarm.

The problem is too much technology/ electronic stuff for a simple fridge to function 😆. If can, find the damn thing to disable. Otherwise find that sound emitting device and cut it off 🤣

Problem is that nowadays all these components, sensors, etc. are well-embedded into the structure of the product, for the sake of presentation and appearance. Not like some sensor which is screwed down and easily disassembled, reassembled. Otherwise can just remove the sensor, then open or short the connections (usually simple door open/close detection is just on/off), problem solved. But i know modern consumer products are just not built to be tampered with [laugh]

Just disconnect the beeper.

The sensor will work and send a signal to the beeper but the beeper won't work.

I heard the trick to disabling the speed alarm in commercial van is to stick those little tooth pick into the buzzer. 😁

Just stick this in front of the buzzer.

Still can hear but just a little bit.

Anyone has any fridge repair contact?

Expand

I only have replacement contact...BD...HN...Giant...😁

JK...leaking condensation water or not cold enuf?

My wife used masking tap as ghetto fix to keep the fridge cold also to reduce build up of condensation within the fridge due to worn out rubber seal around the fridge door.

My parents called me. Said their LG fridge making noise. It's probably around 5-6 years old?

So looking around lor. Now they say it's less noisy. See how tomorrow.

Found some possible contacts on #Carousell.

Even if overload. Not easy fix as they don't have separate fridge like me. I make a conscious effort to limit both fridges load capacity.

I know an ex-CEO of a fridge manufacturer in Europe, days replace any fridge at 5yrs.

Older than this, the door seals wear out already and stay to leak.

My freezer section is also making quite some noice now for half a year, still kicking. Rental contract is up in November, either move or get new fridge. That would also make it 7-8yrs old.

Fridge can last more than 10 years not bad. Thought nowadays electric appliances cannot last long.

Come back to this, as well.

You need to keep the fridge full, even with empty plastic food containers if necessary. This cuts power consumption as the fridge only needs to keep cool the free space - food, and even the plastic containers, hold onto temperature and do not warm up so fast, so keeping something in the fridge's free space will save you money, and the fridge's motor.

Very good point.

Yes the best is not to underload or overload it. I would say anything from 40-75% capacity is good. Beyond too much, the circulation drops, then freezing can occur easily where it shouldn't.
