I just can't piece this together  🥴

FE was delayed by wake but its the fireman that was dead.

If FE delayed, shouldn't it be the house occupants the casualty ?  😦

The fireman that died was probably in a smaller vehicle like red rhino that arrived first..

didn't the occupants escape on their own? The later the firemen arrive, the larger/more intense the flame.

I believe they are just trying to explain should the FE had arrived earlier to support the fireman, he may not die. It is always 'horse-back-canon' talk by experts. The split seconds thing happened, very difficult to analyze. Just need to ensure firemen are better trained and ensure they are not alone.

ya, I don't understand this too.

more pertinent is whether SOPs were followed during the rescue itself.

i look at some of the silver zone modified roads, narrow and curved. wonder if fire engines can get thru or not.

Those silver zone, fire engines should be able to get thru, since public buses also running at these silver zone area.

haha, last time can ownself take initiative.

nowadays must report HQ and await instruction.

last year I was on a bus during heavy rain. tree branch fell and blocking the road. based on my eye power, bus could have still gotten thru at the leafy end of the branch. but bus captain chose to contact HQ and await instructions.

A police probe showed the SCDF officer allegedly left SGT 1 Edward Go alone to battle the blaze. The NSF firefighter collapsed and later died in hospital.

Really horrible. Between this and the coach who left the poor Sports School boy to die, our 'leaders' are really lacking in responsibility and accountability.

There is a lot of difference between a leader and a person giving instructions.

Our uniformed services need officers from the Israeli and SAS schools. Lead from the front by example, and not instruct from the safety of a command post far away. In all the SAS and Israeli raids (like Falklands and Entebbe), the OIC lead the charges and usually paid the price for the successful high-profile operations.

Truth be brother, I’d rather have publicly acknowledged Sia suay Ruperts than having the need for bona fide heroes you’d think.
