Yah that is correct. I just changed to Varta earlier this year (was looking for GS Yuasa but no stock), but my batt size is different from yours. On average my batteries only survive only 1.5 - 2 years because of high heat in engine compartment.

Is it because you're using the AGM version (for start stop), but not using the start stop function?

was told even for same capacity, battery has 2 sizes, tall for Japanese cars and long for Conti cars.

Autobacs told me one.

Japanese Car used JIS Standard,Conti & Korean Cars used DIN Standard.

My guess is that AGM batteries are more hardy and designed for the high demands of multiple engine starting due to start stop. So if you don't use the start stop feature, logically, it should make the batteries last longer.

Your mileage so low! 4 year plus mileage = my 1.5 year mileage.

Agm just more densely packed. Main thing is no liquid sloshing. But I rather change 2 batteries than have 1 agm if the car doesn’t call for it.

Probably mileage plays a part as well?

My dad's 3.5 year old Mazda at 22k mileage is still using the same default battery (I dunno what brand) from the factory since day 1. He always disable the start/stop function.
