Actually the title of this thread is quite pointless.
of course the vehicle reg number is rare. There is only one of it.! 😆

and nice… it’s just a gaggle of alphabets and numbers. How nice can it be?

I actually prefer hard to remember random numbers like 3275, 4962, 9741 etc, one glance confirm will forget in 10 second that type

my lao peh last time got a car with number 100

every time I drive that car, I know got many spies and geh poh people will feedback to him my whereabouts and my driving patterns, I don't like it at all, since young

I spent a long time entertaining the idea of bidding for a number and also getting one of those fancy looking 3D plates, eventually told myself not to waste money on something that will make me stick out.

Spoiler

Actually, just can't afford it lah.

Get a number you like and keep it forever.

Smaller digits look nice on a plate and less "truncated".

I once felt that car plates are a waste of money but once I got mine I start to notice plates every where I drive lol

Agreed, car plates are a waste of money esp need to pay huge amount of money for it. Sometimes really feel like no meaning. But if you have tons of money to throw, getting a car plate that you like also ok la, since you see liao also happy and makes your car stand out. Lol.

So if you are lucky and able to get a nice car plate without having to pay a single cent for it then really try to keep it forever. Cause later sell it maybe still can get some money back.

It is not tons of money.

Even if 100k plate you keep for decades, and pass onto your next generations, cost over time is worth it.

Only in the eye of the beholder of course. Taking example only (i don't have lol), 100k plate can get you single digit plate or 2 digit E or S vintage plate. For those who likes, it's really very nice.

If buy the plate at 100k, next time how much can sell?

Single digit plate definitely nice, but for 2 digit plate not say all numbers are nice lo. For those not nice 2 digit, it is simply just a number.

Let's just say, you enjoy driving and want to drive for as long as you live.

The plate will be part of your identity and I don't see it ever being sold unless you want to get something even nicer.
