can pin this on AHTC ?

if cannot, then issue statement

backup generators were last inspected on DDMMYY and found to be in good condition.

Makes you wonder how many cars ran out of petrol fumes while their needles resolutely pointed at 3/4 full? 😂

Should check 100% car because I don’t go in

Wont lah...as usual blame the contractor from GEBiz which supplied the generator 😆

Drove up JB on Sunday, 9 Oct 22, around 6:10 AM. When reached the bridge leading to Woodlands CIQ, road was block and we were soon surrounded by hundreds of motorbikes. Good thing is that the delay only last 10 mins and we were allowed to proceed. No jams inside CIQ or JB side. Coming back around 1400 hrs, a bit of heavy at JB side but no massive jam. Singapore side just the queuing to do Customs clearance. Not really affected by the power outrage.

The power outage was the result of a failed backup power generator while scheduled maintenance of the power source at Woodlands Checkpoint was taking place.

During pandemic no servicing? Servicing contractor worked from home?

Not sure about the maintenance records or procedure for the checkpoint at the Causeway. Onboard the ship, once a week, the engineers have to switch on the backup generator and run it at least for an hour with load. Backup generators should not be just inspect, need to run with load for a while to ensure that it is indeed still fit for use.

Based on our ministar's logic, if one backup gen set not enough resiliency, prepare two. If two not enough, prepare three.

HELLO? You OK or not??  Why can't you schedule periodic testing of the backup set to ensure it's operational when needed? Our tax $$ spend & spend isit??  :omg:

Woodlands Checkpoint power outage: ICA to deploy more generators during maintenance periods

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will be deploying additional generators as backups during future maintenance periods to avoid another power outage incident at the checkpoints, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on Thursday (Oct 20) in Parliament.

So you see, are our ministers really that good or experienced? Blaming a torn air duct for the outage? Deploying additional backups for the backup? What if the backup's backup also failed? Really knn! :D
