Gaps between cars when stationary!

I usually stop really close car ahead if they have a large gap in front of them.

Most of the time these drivers dunno for fark sake will move forward after stopping.

I go close is because when they move forward my car will be reasonable position to the car ahead.

Hate it when already stop still need to inch up to cover the gap.

They cannot judge and stop properly with the car ahead.

Usually it happen as the 2nd car and I'm the 3rd car at traffic light.

That's partly caused by idiots who can't judge other car's approach speed. Make a discretionary right turn, get t-boned by oncoming straight vehicles.

A reason for this is sometimes the approaching car will suddenly speed up especially if it thinks the light is about to change to red soon.

So that is why sometimes drivers are afraid to judge the other car's approach speed. In case the speed changes.  But this is more pronounced in motorcycles where they can accelerate really fast.

For cars, usually no worries from my Honda city type of cars but sports cars can change speeds really fast.  Not sure about electric cars.

Just drive next to this car and indicate right.... the gap would be close in 1 nanosecond!

I was already in my position when he stopped there leaving the big gap. I could not move forward.

Ya, whenever you signal and show your intention of changing lane, all cars from behind would speed up fast and furious, even they are driving at snail slow speed.

Saw this in fb and cannot agree more.

creates a bigger gap and thus slows traffic more.

there seems to be a larger gap between cars nowadays. More n more cars leaving gaps of 1-2 car lengths. What gives? Got ghost cars around us ah?

anyone noticed too?
