noob question here ... can F-35 do cobra maneuver and kvochur bell maneuver  ?

or is it an issue of

its the pilot, not the plane ?

Cobra move is like bayonet fighting....

To tire out the recruits and make soldiers during POP (when M16 still in use) looked tough.

I’m going to watch tom cruise again… 😂

off topic but they really fly the damn jets for this movie!!… I cannot understand how they did it themselves. U mean he can fly the same level as a F16 pilot?…

They were not actually flying the planes.

"...They're sitting behind military pilots who are.

The scenes look real, because they are.

The movie's creators made sure of it, by having all the actors go through three months of rigorous training to avoid air sickness.

Then, when filming began, they would sit inside the cockpits of fighter jets behind actual pilots who would fly them...

...He was one of several Navy pilots hired for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ though you'll never see his face.

Most of the scenes he filmed were done inside a two-seat F18.

As he piloted, the actor, which in many cases was Tom Cruise, would sit behind him, with cameras positioned solely on them...."

Also due to manpower....

No need to massively re-train all F16 pilots.

As well as the adversaries capability....a correctly configured F16 is more than capable to match potential risks.

Problem neighbour now has bought alot F16s

If using F16 to intercept then maybe half half chance

need something better than F16 but F35 also seems like cmi for close combat. Sg doesnt really need stealth long range capability.

Singapore's lack of defensive depth means it is entirely understandable that they are not seeking to merely match, but significantly over-match any potential aggressor such that they would not even try - the poisonous shrimp strategy.

Remember that Malaysia and Indonesia carried out joint airborne exercises in Johor against adversary X during one of Singapore's national days. Sometimes people just want to test the waters.

And so, it falls to the Air Force due to their speed, to be the tip of the spear to reach far and strike hard, and year on year, it flexes its muscles every August to remind others not to try.

Only two other ASEAN nations operate F-16s, one has 30 plus and the other has 50 plus.

We have 60, all of which are Block 52+s, then spiced up with some Israeli toys. Qualitatively, I suspect there is quite a big difference.

And we don't just have those, but also another 40 Mud hens.

Shopping spree likely to counter balance the power in the region and not to arm race with SG.

Good I hope they go for vertical take off version.

In a war they are going to bomb our airbase and take out our runways.

Then what? All our planes cannot take off.

In a war they are going to bomb our runways and all our planes sitting in airfields.

So the answer is hide all our planes all over the island.

The roll them out of buildings, vertical takeoff, take out their planes and land in any field for mobile tankers to refuel and rearm them, take off and fight again.

:D

This is UK tactics in the cold war where it is expected if USSR went to war they will take out UK airbases.

And this plane was born. The flying bedstead.

A knife fight in a phone box is not the F35 thing

Its more a sniper that kills you before you even see him

but I am not sure it cannot dog fight and people saying its not agile is exaggerated.

Getting the vertical F35 also means every cargo ship

becomes an aircraft carrier.

:D

What can our enemies do? Sink every cargo ship?
