Bro, electronics is probably hard to become antiques. I support the mechanical watches where there was ever one IWC watch technician telling me. The advantage of mechanical is even over 100 years, if we need to make parts to support, we can do it. We do it with even much better precision. I agree.

That is why I am telling boss my precision machining is able to run for many years if I continue to just get business and be efficient

Hmmm… so u are in the CNC Précision Machining industry.. Same same😂

Time to put up my almost quarter century old Panasonic Hi-fi with twin cassette player on Carousell... :D:D

Agree that cassette tape is much more difficult to keep / store to retain the original sound quality, as compared to vinyl record and LD.

Your player still can play cassette well? My mil is interested...my ears gonna suffer...Chinese opera and all...but anything that will make my wife happy...😂

You serious to get one for your MIL?

My set is at my rental unit, don't know whether it still can function. Let me test it when I am there, my tenant not using it anyway.

I remember magnetic tapes all turn a bit moldy after a few years. Then you have tape cleaners for vhs tape. Don’t think there was any for cassette. I still have old tape cleaning solution left over at my mums.

having been through most music formats from buying cassette tape in secondary school (yes me quite old), later cd during uni, then mp3/digital at later part.

I realise the urge of listening to music slowly fading. Partly old people dun appreciate the music from 2000 onward, though there are few good one but no urge of buying their cd. Digital music is convenient and too convenient until you dun pay much attention while listening.

when come to music and movies, I always support original, buying cassette, vinyl or cd and going to cinema for movies. Playing Cassette and vinyl show more respect to the song writer and the singer cos you need to listen from beginning to end, there is no remote control to fast forward and skip songs like cd [laugh]
