I think s22 series are sd8 based.

nope.

Exynos 2200 here in SG. both are running it here. Which has a tendency to be unable to keep up performance. Hence it throttles a lot to maintain performance.
it can't even max out genshin impact which the SD888 already could do but tends to overheat. Samsung just keeps it throttled to prevent overheating.

Note the gigahertz counting for the cores to distinguish.

Think i will hold my wallet till S23 ultra release to replace ny note 10+

sd8gen1 is not faster but more efficient. But ... S22u has similar battery life compared to s21u.
So in the span of 1 year, zero improvement was made in efficiency which is pretty lackluster considering every newer generation of iphone is killing it in terms of efficiency since the A14 chip.

I'm an android person. Nothing against Iphone which i agree is the gold standard.

Pixel phones have been having lot of software bugs issues. Most reviewers have stopped using the phone due to unacceptable bugginess.

haha i also want to upgrade. But the latest samsungs are pretty underwhelming in terms of battery life. And even camera also no longer have clear advantage over the chinese.

Agree that current pixel phone is reported to be plagued with issues, and this stopped me from getting it. I used to use pixel and the software experience is good as compared to most others. Hopefully pixel 7 will solve the issues.

I am using the smaller s22 now and the battery is quite alright, passable. High refresh rate kills battery, so you can disable it for longevity. After all, your s9+ probably doesnt have high refresh rate anyway.  The plus and ultra models' battery should be even better due to its bigger size.

I find camera quality to be not so relevant as most users just use the basic point and shoot function amd all flagship phones are almost good enough.

i read both the samsung website and the gsmarena, the CPU speed which is similar to the ROW spec which is Snapdragon. Only Europe use Exynos 2200.

I did a quick search and found below :

In Singapore, all the S22 models will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. This is the first in many years, as we always get Samsung flagship smartphones with the less-superior Exynos chips.

Maybe a search at Singapore Samsung website can confirm this.

I bought my better half an iphone 13 pro max recently, and its so good, she never looked back.  I notice that children and females tends to sway to iphones for their fluidity, simplicity and consistency.  In fact, recently I read that more than ever before, more people are switching from Android to iphones.  If not because I am deeply rooted in the Android ecosystem, and that iphones dont have in-screen fingerprint scanner, i would have switched also.

Daytime not much difference. S22 night mode is not the best...

I guess the more you know. The more u ponder differences. Anyway since its a want buy for me, I like to take my time.

I really like my current phone still actually. Two screen repairs and 1 battery change!

I like things that are bit messy and not just super slick and smooth. Hahaha.

I agree. I always tell anybody that iPhone 12/13 onwards is cannot go wrong.

Thats ttrue.

Do remember that once you repaired your phone, the water proofing is not there, so do not dip into swiimming pool.  My Mrs did that to her S8 after a repair, and it instantly gone case.  lol.

Thanks.  Then maybe you can consider getting the Fold 4, which seems to suit your use case.  Edit : you have bought s22 ultra.  Nowadays dont have a laptop or tablet at home is quite rare.
