Why would paid so much money for a relatively unknown brand here.

Even in China it is a small player.

Cos ppl buying ev  no longer have mentality of buying them as cars, they are buying them like buying appliances /washing machines. All they want is cheap good deal, can work can liao. After few years dump away.

True for most part except that cars are too expensive to dump away here. We will see the real resale value another few years down the road.

I wouldn't be surprise if this car lose 70 - 80% of it value after 5 years, since it has $0 PARF value, and the dealer might close shop after 2 years if they don't sell well in our tiny and super competitive market.

With an declared OMV of $18K, the current cat A premium cost more than 5 times the car cost. Our LTA has the bestest business model for automotive related services!!

The current ppl buying EVs really dun care, they won't keep their cars for long and will just trade in for the next shiny new toy just like phones. I personally know of at least 2 less than 1 year old Ioniq 5s traded-in for brand new BYD SEAL.

If you see the current marketing efforts for cars now, it is really targeting a different type of customer liao and they way EVs are being marketed is really no longer as a "car".

The Ioniq 5 is excellent. How does it fare to the Seal? Performance and power aside.

Seal is sport saloon. Sitting very low.

Ioniq 5 is like SUV/Cross over.
