Locknload 5th Gear August 27, 2022 Author Share August 27, 2022 ManU 1 (Bruno) - Sou 0 (EPL - Away) Similar back-four but in a 4-2-3-1 system with Rashford in front flanked by Sancho, Bruno and Elanga and mid comprising Eriksen and Mctominay. Took 15 minutes to settle down and passing accuracy not as good as Southampton's, who encountered stiff defence from Malacia and the hard-tackling Martinez. Save for a good chance during a goalmouth melee, there was nothing to show for in a goalless first-half, with Mctominay, Rashford and Elanga having a quiet game. It was Bruno's side-footed kick from Dalot which gave us the lead in the 54th minute and replacements with Ronaldo for Sancho and the new-signing Casemiro (up to 84 mil with add-ons from Real Madrid) for Elanga and Fred for Eriksen hang on to another victory. A hard-fought match and a deserved win for a 6th place position.
Locknload 5th Gear August 30, 2022 Author Share August 30, 2022 ManU has signed 22 year-old right-winger Antony from Ajax on a 5+1 year deal and now in Manchester pending visa finalisation in time for the Arsenal game on Sunday. This would allow Sancho to move back to the right, with Rashford preferred over CR7 as center-forward. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/live-manchester-united-transfer-news-24884269#:~:text=KEY EVENT-,FULL STORY - Manchester United sign Antony and explain why they bought,in the Premier League on Thursday night%2C due to visa issues.,-Read more on
Locknload 5th Gear September 1, 2022 Author Share September 1, 2022 Manu 1 (Sancho) - Lei 0 (EPL - Away) Unchanged from the last game, our players displayed high energy levels and won most of the second balls amid a robust Leicester team. A defensive lapse allowed Bruno lots of space down the right to pass to Rashford, who fed Sancho a through ball and then rounded their goalie to score in the 22nd minute. Good effort from Mctominay who intercepted many attacking moves and combined well with Eriksen to control the mid. With the 1-0 lead, complacency set in, allowing Leicester to be on the front-foot. Even with Casemiro for Elanga and CR7 for Sancho, there were not much of impact. With the signing of Brazilian Antony Carlos, we have a right winger who can do well in tight spaces, samba the ball into the box and can score from long range, and Casemiro who can defend and thwart the opponent's attacking moves with his imposing presence, it would be good to see him playing alongside Eriksen and Bruno in midfield. Another victory and clean-sheet, a good sign that ETH is doing his magic!

Just like Carbon82, let's see Antony with Sancho and CR7 in a 4-3-3 formation (as Rashford is not in form) against in-form Arsenal to move up the table at 11.30pm later. The present back-four are working well together and confidence is high now. GGMU!
Locknload 5th Gear September 4, 2022 Author Share September 4, 2022 ManU 3 (Antony / Rashford x 2) - Ars 1 (Saka) @ EPL - Home Similar 4-2-3-1 system with the exception of Antony for Elanga on the right wing. A goal by Arsenal's Martinelli was ruled out after a foul was committed on Eriksen in the run-up and Antony scored a lovely goal on his debut from Rashford's pass in the 34th minute. A robust first-half with their striker Gabriel Jesus being the target of Martinez' and Varane's niggly fouls to maintain the lead. The second half had Ronaldo coming on for Antony in the 57th minute and Arsenal levelled the score through Saka in the 60th minute. From then on, Arteta's team were brought down to earth from cloud nine when Rashford scored 2 goals in the 66th and 75th minute from through balls by Bruno and Eriksen. Both Maguire and Casemiro came on to replace Rashford and Martinez to boost the defence and show that we can handle the better teams with ETH's magical transformation.
Locknload 5th Gear September 8, 2022 Author Share September 8, 2022 ManU 0 - Real Sociedad 1 (Europa League - Home) It was Elanga and Antony flanking CR7 as striker with Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen in support. With DDG in goal, the back-four comprised Malacia, Lindelof, Maguire and Dalot, who spear-headed most of the attacks from the back. Less of possession but CR7's powerful header into goal was ruled offside in the 35th minute and his loss of pace was apparent in the goal-less first-half. The second half commenced with Bruno and Martinez replacing Dalot and Eriksen and a controversial penal was awarded to RS when the ball bounced off Martinez' knee onto his right arm in the 58th minute. Subs for Antony and Elanga with Sancho and Garnacho and later on by Charlie Mcneil for Malacia did not produce the desired equalizer, and the new signings need more time to gel as passes from Casemiro and Antony were not read well by the senior players. The weekend game against Crystal Palace (as with the other EPL matches) will probably be postponed due to the demise of Her Majesty the Queen and an announcement will be made tomorrow. Locknload 5th Gear September 15, 2022 Author Share September 15, 2022 ManU 2 (Sancho / Ronaldo-pen) - Sheriff Tiraspol 0 (Europa League Grp E - Moldova) Although rarely heard of, Sheriff FC are top of this group on goal difference and unbeaten in their last eight games with seven clean sheets, having won 2-1 against Real Madrid in the qualifying rounds. Employing the same formation but with CR7 as striker in place of the injured Rashford, it was Sheriff on the front foot till the 17th minute, when Sancho put us in the lead with a goal similar to the one that he scored against Leicester. From then on, it was a confident display as we camped in their half; gaining a penalty which CR7 converted in the 37th minute when Dalot was tripped that provided us a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first half. The replacements at the start of the second half with Casemiro for Mctominay and later on with Luke Shaw, Elanga, Maguire and Ganarcho for Dalot, CR7, Antony and Martinez did not affect the game much, with a rather lack-lustre display throughout but a comfortable win, no doubt. Takeaways from the last few games have shown that Mctominay does better than Casemiro with Eriksen and Bruno, Dalot's much-improved performance and that Martinez has to be less aggressive in his tackles at the expense of possible red-cards and giving away good positions to opponents - perhaps to compensate for his lack of height. With Martial and Rashford injured, ETH had to play him and the penalty was consolation to put his name on the scorecard, which could have been accorded to others. He's left his scoring boots at home and perhaps consider Saudi teams to enlarge his nest-egg for his retirement.
Locknload 5th Gear October 2, 2022 Author Share October 2, 2022 ManU 3 (Antony / Martial x 2) - ManC 6 (EPL - Away) The 4-2-3-1 with Rashford in front, supported by Mctominay, Bruno and Eriksen did not seem capable of controlling the midfield and allowed City's Phil Foden to start the riot in the 7th minute. It was the impressive Haaland who scored twice in the 33rd and 37th minute with Foden again completing the annihilation in the 44th minute to make it 4-0 in the first half. A tactical change will be needed as Antony, Dalot, Mctominay were passive and so was Malacia and the injured Varane, who was replaced with Lindelof, as both made defensive errors for two of the goals. A good number of fans were seen leaving the stadium even before the whistle was blown for half-time, perhaps to spare themselves the agony of another disastrous outing against our noisy neighbours. It was Shaw for Malacia at the start of the second half and Antony scored in the 56th minute from a scorcher outside the box. Both Martial and Casemiro came on for Rashford and Mctominay but the damage was already done when Manc scored another 3 goals (hattricks from Haaland and Foden) and although Martial had a brace, it was an embarrassment for ETH and back to the drawing board to relook at his shambolic defence. Locknload 5th Gear October 6, 2022 Author Share October 6, 2022 ManU 3 (Rashford x 2 / Martial) - Omonia 2 (Europa League - Away at Cyprus) With CR7 in front with Sancho, Bruno and Antony in support, it was Eriksen with Casemiro in place of Mctominay in midfield, and Lindelof for the injured Varane in the back four. With a defensive 5-3-2 formation, Omonia drew first-blood when Malacia was caught out in the 33rd minute and grew in confidence to take the lead in the first half. Both Rashford and Shaw came on for Sancho and the ineffective Malacia at the start of the second half and Rashford scored in the 53rd minute to level the score. It was Martial who scored almost immediately after coming on for Bruno in the 61st minute and Rashford scored again in the 83rd minute after CR7 unselfishly squared the ball to him, with Omonia scoring a minute later. Effective substitutions with Fred and Mctominay for Antony and Casemiro displayed ETH's good grasp of the situation for attacking flair, but it was CR7 that was most disappointed with the many chances he missed.
Locknload 5th Gear October 9, 2022 Author Share October 9, 2022 ManU 2 (Antony / Ronaldo) - Everton 1 (EPL - Away) A 4-2-3-1 system with Rashford supported by Martial, Bruno and Antony. Both Casemiro and Eriksen controlled the mid, whilst Shaw, Martinez, Lindelof and Dalot brought up the rear. Everton drew first-blood in the 5th minute when Casemiro lost possession but Antony levelled the score in the 14th minute from Martial's through ball but was replaced by CR7 in the 28th minute, due to injury during the warm-up. It was Ronaldo's 700th club goal celebration when Casemiro fed an inch-perfect pass to him in the 43rd minute to give us the lead at halftime. A goal in the 80th minute by Rashford was disallowed for handball and with Varane replacing the off-form Eriksen in the 92nd minute to boost the defence, we held on for the 4 minutes of extra time to win the game.
