Wah 6 pages.....so long to read.

So what is happening now? Guess it is the same old military exercise thingy from PRC just to show some teeth?

I guess TW don't need any refuelling capability since it is an unsinkable supercarrier.

Besides the equipment, top-notch training (especially closed combat) is important for ROCAF.

It would offer them tactical flexibility if they want to retain their islands off the Chinese coast. Those islands are political capital for both sides.

Supersonic

Nevertheless, US treat China as the main threat, not Russia.

Russia is being demilitarized by Ukraine. [laugh]

Xi is in a fix.

He cannot invade TW but must do something or he lose face.

So what can he do?

Have some military exercises and ban some fruits and fish?

:D

Its all in jest, but I fathom there are deeper reasons for the banning of foodstuff

1. In preparation for future conflict, to prevent possible sabotage via food poisoning

2. Farmers and Taiwanese manufacturers are innocent bystanders in the political showmanship

3. No good reason to hit the Taiwanese when the obvious antagonist is US this time.

4. Notice there is no international backlash for the round island "war-games" by PRC, as close as 20 km from Taiwan shores.

It would be accurate to say the world heaved relief when there is no real conflict breaking out from this brinksmanship, including US and Biden.

Have you all noticed something?

All the people that support China are Chinese.

How come no pro China supporters are Malay or Indian or Japanese or any other race except Chinese?

Is it because Pro China supporters have very simple thinking?

China is Chinese, I am Chinese so I must support China

If all the people in China jump off a cliff so China supporters have to jump also because they are Chinese?

Let's see things objectively.

:D

Everybody knows how much I love Japan but I am not Japanese.

Everybody knows how much I love Thailand but I am not Thai.

Everybody knows how much I love Korea but I am not Korean.

Exactly!

Bluff called.

Xi will have to live with the humiliation.

To take it out on the Taiwan commoners is like an adult beating a child, when his face was slapped by the child's godfather.

Yes I love China but not because I am Chinese.

It is because of the talent they have

and if CCP and Xi are wrong I cannot blindly support them.

I always wonder how people know exactly what China is capable of militarily?

For a country that can join the space race as a credible candidate in a shorter time than what USSR/USA took..... I will give China a big benefit of doubt that it has the talent (special elite forces) and tech (amphibious assault and landing) to put up a more credible attempt at invasion of an island province than Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Just like how much we have in our reserves, China's miliatry prowess is very much a matter of top national security.

I really don't blame Xi as he is constrained by the burden of history

and its all just politics.

A China president is expected to voice out against people visiting Taiwan.

Just like up north when got election will talk all the usual nonsense.

If UMNO runs SG they will do a better job.

Now no one believes that but they have to clap and cheer

but in their hearts they know its all nonsense.

It is one thing to play catch up and another to forge a path as a pioneer. A lot of their cutting edge designs are clearly “inspired” by others.

But should they be underestimated? Definitely not.
