Will probably work best with ev as the wheel arch intrusion with 80deg is quite a bit. No combustion engine will free up lots of space.

Yah there has to be no drive train assembly, and rods universal joints etc , druve motors has to  mounted directly  onto the wheel.

I thought there is a 4 wheel steering tech already? That can be setup to provide tighter turning as well as more agile sporty drive feel. 

Iirc it was on cars like A8, maybe GTR? 

It all boils down to cost.

I'm fine with this, as long as a safety feature is hard-coded: the car must be stationary for minimum 2 seconds with the signal indicator turned on on the correct side for a minimum of 5 seconds *and* the blind spot indicator must be clear before the full lock insta-U turn is permitted by the ECU. 

So perish the thought of suddenly stopping and swerving 180 degrees in front of other traffic.
