Most of ppl EV is quieter than your car.

Seeing encouraging signs for lower priced EVs from BYD that makes sense for the <20K per annum mileage segment, which is the vast majority of local drivers.

Hope the Koreans and Japanese can follow soon.

I spotted quite a number of the Atto. Interesting how would these car hold up... I have the impression that BYD as a well funded and leading EV company in china for years, are one of the more reliable auto makers out there.

I sat in an almost brand new bright green EV taxi before. I think it is BYD.

Interior is so quiet until my yakking colleague sounded louder than before.

After being a sceptic, I actually ordered the car. 
Just wanted to test drive for fun but found the car quite well built and spacious. And they did hold the price despite $15k rise in Cat B

I travel 80-110 KM per day and have a home charger so it makes sense for EV. My wife wanted SUV. My options

Kona (Korea) - $157k

Peugeot e-2008 (France) - $157k

MG ZS (China) - $160k

Model Y (China) - $250k

ix3 (China) - $300k

BYD was the best value for money for range, equipment and space

Actually, for EVs, I feel you have to think of it as a different product from ICE cars. China has the most EVs in use and BYD is top EV sales globally. Like one EV commentator said “if the EV is not made in China, then I worry” 😃😃

@Fitmugen Congratulations! I have ordered mine before the 2nd COE bid for October. 
I read all the skeptic comments all over, about the parts, about the battery, about number of EV charging stations.
The real fact remains that if one is interested to get an EV, one has to do his / her math. Letting emotion to drive one's decision is actually very unwise. I actually left a comment to someone's comment in facebook about the number of EV charging stations available in Singapore, and that the nearest available charging station is not next to his house. My comment was " Do you have a petrol station just down at your building?".

@Wolfverine I am paying for ATTO 3 car insurance using Liberty Insurance, paying slightly above $1.3K. I guess it all depending on the age, gender of the driver, the type of car and the usage. Insurance companies will not hesitate to charge a premium for a car that can go from 0 - 100km in 3+ seconds.

@inlinesix When I test drive ATTO 3, there is no motor humming sound at all. It is silence, quiet. I shall update here again after I collected the ATTO 3 and drive it for some times to be fair.

Congrats bro! Actually ownself happy can liao. There are also people who buy 7 year old BMW knowing the maintenance will kill them. But if they happy to pay, who can argue with them.

I have seen before at the Shell station. The fellow sitting in his EV during the charging. I stop for petrol and snacks. My younger kid even wanted McD fries. This kiosk has McD drive thru and has a counter in the kiosk that you can order McD. But it has only one charging station. I ask kiosk unker how come only one and not two charger. He said the kiosk has only enough power to support one. He also said maybe the area's power infrastructure cannot support more.

After I am done refueling and shopping, the fellow still in the EV. 

Will I consider an EV? What do you think?😁

I wonder by the time I reach home and shake leg, where is the fellow? Starting to leave?
