Capacitor will spoil one.

You know Seiko Kinetic watch? No battery but got capacitor to store the energy after you moved you hand. After a certain number of years, have to change and it’s not cheap. A battery is much cheaper. 🤣

No wonder my Seiko failed on me. So I got an omega.

Just curious, Mazda using this system can save a lot of fuel?

Cos I don't hear Mazda owners say their car is very fuel efficient.

Last time my Mazda 6,2.5 can easily hit 12Km/L.50% city Driving.

Not particularly. Their NA skyactiv engine more or less tech peaked long ago (similarly other NA engines). Unless its hybrid, nothing can give better mileage. Which is usually an Atkinson cycle engine for the bigger 2L ones.

Albeit its also because of current trend towards electric vehicles, most ICE engine research money would have been diverted into hybrid or EV research. Certainly I as a manufacturer won't spend anything beyond bare minimum on the above.

Oh my. Isnt this the Mazda version of a voltage stabilizer?

Omg...so ex to replace. Youtube no have tutorial on how to replace the capacitors? Go sim lim tower buy capacitors ownself replace. The car should be able to drive w/o it. Cannot just disconnect it? If there is an error code can use obd tool to ignore and off the warning light.

Dont understand why back then mazda use voltage stabilizers in their car. Capacitors shelf life can be short depending on quality. Plus they do not like heat. They will only degrade at a faster rate under exposure of heat.

Don't have any oem alternative from China? If it's battery tech I think China will be able to replicate

Conti SSS uses the AGM type battery designed to handle the unique characteristics of SS.

There is no separate capacitor or battery just for SSS.

Mazda i-eloop is mainly about recouping energy from braking and to offload the alternator and potentially help with mazda SSS (if they have)

Mercs have 2 batteries.. 1 secondary for the SS.
MZ3 have I-eloop but 6 don’t have !!?.. ok learnt something new..

ok, I stand corrected😄

my last merc which I owned from new for almost 5 yrs only need to change the main battery once under warranty....and that is most likely because I will turn off the SSS on each startup for the duration I owned the car.😁

Alas Mazda ev totally cannot make it. Don’t know which idiot in their product group gave the go ahead for the mx30 ev.

Seems that not all Mazda models are equipped with i-eloop device. Scrutinised and searched through my car engine bay and couldn't find anything that looks like that thingy shown here.😁
