Dear all,

Starting a new thread for the upcoming season.

We were so close to a Quadruple, but alas, ended the season with both Carabao and FA Cup.

Mane, Origi and Minamino are gone. Mane carried us a good part of the season, whilst both Origi and Taki enabled us to navigate the earlier rounds of both domestic cup competitions successfully. Another few names that’s speculated to leave are Neco Williams, Joe Gomez, Oxlade Chamberlain……

We brought in Nunez (club record if all add ons are activated) plus Carvalho and Ramsay.
All reports indicate that’s all the incomings. Somehow, I just feel there will be one, maybe two additions.

Salah’s contract negotiations rumble on. I feel that if he won’t sign the extension and we are unwilling to break our wage structure, then it would be best if he is sold (rumored to be around £60million price tag) and the money reinvested. But that would mean we lose 2/3 of the original Fab 3 (Firmino also left with a year), which might not be ideal to approach a new season. We have to trust JK. The man that made us great and allow us to dream again.

The REDS will be in Singapore later this month.

This is a World Cup year, with the competition held in Nov/Dec. it will be kinda weird.

ManC will be just as strong, (still the team to beat), especially with Haaland. Chelsea looks like revamping both their forward and back line. Spurs under Conte have been steady and made some signings, including the petulant ex-toffee, Richarlison (as of now, both clubs seem to agree on the fee). Arsenal appears to be very active as well.

Agree that if Salah doesn't want to renew his contract, he should be sold and the money received reinvested instead of having him leaving on a free end of next season. Mane is gone and hearsay Firminho is attracting interest from the Old Lady. 

The inclusion of Darwin Nunez is not a light for light replacement for Mane and I think we should shore up the options on the wings. Midfield wise, I think we should also get some coverage.

Lewandowski is worth >40m euro, apparently. BM doesn't even wanna entertain barca - presumably waiting for the carrothead to up the offer some more...

wonder how come Mane is worth so much less...

Anyway, hope klopp can find another dimension to pool's game and can dominate opponents easily again - especially the close competitors. We didn't beat any of the top 4 last season. Compare this with a few seasons ago when we could beat them all (but just couldn't break down the weaker teams) - i still dunno which is better...

Look forward to the new season when it starts.

Liverpool FC are delighted to announce Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The forward, who was named the FWA Footballer of the Year and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for 2021-22 after helping Jürgen Klopp’s side to a domestic cup double, has committed his future (reported till 2025) to the Reds by putting pen to paper on the deal on Friday.

Ok....at least this Salah contract issue is now settled, hopefully he can now play with full focus and regain his form into the new season.

We won't don't know. No one know the details. All tabloids speculation. 

Anyway let see the contract extension as a new player signed to our club. A guaranteed minimum 20 goals a season player.  

Personally It felt more a relief. It show that we do have the capability (financial/pulling power) to keep our star player rather than to caved in let them move on. Mane as so to speak. 🤔

Is so important. I see it as the most important signing during this transfer window. Any player out in the market of Salah status/quality that we can sign and are still available at this juncture? Salah extension really show our (the club) intent for the next few seasons.

Just hope the other top players, esp vvd n Alison, will not push for the same figures...

Next will be to plan for the midfield...

Oh... wonder how will gini n Mane feel... 😓

Hopefully this bumper deal will not cause the others to ask/demand for raise, causing disrupt to the squad harmony.
