USA getting crazier by the day.

Politicians manipulate the masses for their own gains and significant numbers of the population too under-educated to think logically.

They cite constitutional rights to strike down gun control laws. But at the same time strip away constitutional rights ..... women cannot decide for themselves whether can abort or not??

Big news in USA now, some states are now cleared to enact their own regulations to ban abortion.

So have the rights to carry guns in public but no rights to decide on family planning matters? And this is coming from land of human rights, always lecture others.

Maybe they see this as win-win, with so many shooting casualties, then need some booster to the population numbers

It's said that the majority of the people are actually for gun regulation and abortion rights. 

Maybe this will make people actually come out and vote against the gop.

But the dems also pissed many people off with BLM.

Different states have different preferences and majorities. I agree though that both sides are extreme in the stuff they're trying to push. There's just no middle ground. Might as well just have just have two countries else the presidency is like a musical chair game, no long-term plan, no stability.

It will have a knock on effect on the rest of the world. These things don't happen in isolation. It will have an influence on far right movements in other Western nations, and before you know it it will spread to here.

disunited states of america divided along north south line just like their old civil war days ( Northern states vs southern states).

Democrat majority states in costal states like California and New york are much more liberal and richer than the inland states which are mainly  poorer, rural and agricultural and much more conservative. ( Republican strongholds)

Switzerland is far more democratic than these countries. They seem to be doing very well.

USA is not really democratic. It's corrupt capitalist.

Switzerland is small (not even NY size) and a lot more homogenous. Can't compare.

Democracy is messy by nature.  But at least they not happy they can replace their people in charge anytime. They must be enough people supporting whatever policies just that we only read news selectively pushed to us.

Uh, no ah. Switzerland is split between French, Italian, German and Romansh (native) speaking regions. The difference is that they learn to live with each other and accept the differences harmoniously.

That's a fallacy. Switzerland is multi-religious, and all religions are allowed to practice (no official religion). They have also taken in lots of immigrants from Eastern Europe and Africa too.

As for not happy can replace their people in charge, well, we already saw how their presidential selection system works. It's not really the majority vote but through some convoluted system.

I am sure there are majority of rational Americans supporting tighter gun laws, for example, but because of a complex political system that is open to lobbying and manipulation, the majority view may sometimes be overturned.

Even their so-called separation of powers between executive and judiciary is a joke because the judiciary is political as well. Look at the Trump appointees and how they rule on certain issues.

The divide in the USA now is not so much between the two major parties, but between rich and poor, social stratification. Issues like gun violence, for example, doesn't affect the rich and influential... so they'll continue to support pro-gun laws. Look at those innocents gunned down, no rich people's kids.
