SingPost launched on Friday (June 17) a set of five stamps that features popular Singapore mascots Merli, Smiley, Water Sally, Blood Buddy and Teamy the bee.

This is the second set of stamps depicting local mascots, with SingPost releasing in 2020 five stamps that featured Nila the lion, Water Wally, Sharity the elephant, Captain Green and Singa the lion.

In a release, SingPost said the new release followed "the success of the first set... which met with a resounding welcome from collectors and members of the Singapore community, many of whom grew up with these mascots".

Why did they retire Singa in the first place?

And now they let him appear in the park?

Reminds me of the 80s and 90s. It does bring back some memories.

It is very different from what we see now.

Instead of promoting courtesy they put up signage like this. Stick man/woman with no emotions. It looks cold. Stick pregnant woman dont even have hair to represent that is a pregnant woman. I dont think it is cost cutting. It has to do with management. Maybe it is run by emotionless stick men.

Commies can do a better job with their propaganda like paintings. It shows actual passengers, human beings, plus they look sincere. The artist is really good at bringing out the compassion ppl are capable of.

Our mascots are nice too. They were good until they were no longer seen in public. Our society has changed somehow. It's about the numbers now.

stickman designs are more neutral, more suited for our multi-racial society....
