Everything from that colour to the grill to the fact that it's an odd shaped MPV is so fugly my eyes hurt 🙄

Agree. I like their sedans but their SUVs are just not there in terms of proportions. either too narrow or too much overhang.

Wait a minute?

When they reviewed the last RX

I have never heard even one reviewer

call it boring!

Suddenly the new model comes out and the last model was very boring?

Why they never say before?

:D

The car is now at Lexus showroom. Impressive that the 2.5L hybrid SUV weighing slightly above 2 tons can achieve VES neutral.

I think the newer 2.5L Atkinson cycle engine has more power. According to motortrend it has 190hp.

https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2023-lexus-rx-350h-hybrid-first-drive-review/

Where as the Harrier hybrid it is using an older Atkinson cycle 2.5L engine from the older ES 300h hybrid that has 118hp. This is according to carbuyer(sg).

https://carbuyer.com.sg/2021-toyota-harrier-hybrid-review-very-talon-ted/3/

Atkinson cycle means the combustion cycle is completed in one crankshaft revolution. After the crankshaft rotates one revolution the combustion process has completed. While other engines running on Otto cycle completes the combustion cycle in 2+ crankshaft revolutions. Hence Atkinson cycle engines are seen as efficient but downside is that it lacks power and torque.

Motortrend mentioned the suv can achieve more than 600miles(965.6km) range. It is impressive considering it weighs around 2 tons. 0-60mph is 7.4s (100km/h is 62mph, so I think it is closer to 8s). They also mention because it is an suv it is difficult to feel that it is moving fast. Imo with electric motor assisting the ICE I think the engine sound is kinda muted hence it wont feel fast.

But to me overall cost of purchasing and ownership of a hybrid the cost is still considered high because of the two drivetrains, electric and ICE. In terms of fuel savings it is insignificant compared to overall cost.
