The 2023 Lexus RX rides on the GA-K platform, and the fresh underpinnings let the vehicle shed up to 89 Kg compared to the previous generation. The wheelbase grows by 60 mm, but the rear overhang shrinks by 60 mm, meaning that the overall length doesn't change compared to the previous model.

The 2023 RX is coming with four powertrains, but Lexus is only offering details about three of them right now. Details about the 450h+ plug-in hybrid will come later.

The 2023 RX will be available in six trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance.

The new RX 500h F Sport Performance grade comes with some extra equipment. It has six-piston brake calipers and rides on 21-inch wheels. Inside, the leather upholstery includes suede door trim and perforated material on the steering wheel. The tread plates have F Sport branding.

Depending on the grade, 10 colors will be available: Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Copper Crest, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, and Grecian Water.

Inside, the new RX has an infotainment screen with a lower position that puts it next to the instrument cluster rather than being on top of the dashboard. A display as large as 14 inches is available. Other available upgrades include a panorama glass roof and a head-up display.

Buyers have six upholstery color choices: Macadamia, Black, Birch, Palomino, Peppercorn, and Rioja Red. There are four available trim styles: Black Cascade, Ash Bamboo, Black Open Pore, and Dark Graphite Aluminum.

Last time those Lexus front grilles looked understated but very elegant, some even very dignified especially on the flagship LS model. But now they look like embroidery.

The interior pictures and the seats remind me of the current Corolla Altis. Just a bit more premium and nicer, but overall the shapes of the front and back seats and the placement of all the knobs and buttons all very similar to Corolla.

Its interesting they only fitted a 6-speed to the range topping RX500h.

Probably the 8 speed or CVT can't handle the higher torque...

Lexus basically is Toyota lo, so design similar also not wrong. 😂

I'm guessing its got to do with how the transmission is being mated to the engine as well as how much torque it can withstand.

The 4-cylinder in the RX500h is transversely mounted, so perhaps only the 6-speeder would fit in. That CVT of the LS500h requires its engine to be longitudinally mounted, in which the V6 of the LS500h was indeed longitudinally oriented. 

Interestingly, LS500h is 350Nm, this RX500h is 550Nm. It's likely the CVT really can't make it, from packaging and mechanical limit pov 😆

Toyota cars design always familiar and low risk throughout their era car model, this also apply same to Lexus. Since i guess many Lexus owners were also driving Toyota cars previously de. 😂
