The super hornet alone is already 24 years old liao.

Though I'm not sure how close the Kuwaiti hornets are to the super hornets.

These planes likely to be the original A or B variant.

Super hornet is either E or F variant.  It is a significant upgrade including plane size

physically they are already 2 different planes. Iirc, the US MOD very sneakily sold congress the plane as just an "upgrade" zhng of F18A/B cos if they revealed they are really building another new plane, they would not have gotten approval to go ahead.

Luckily the plane performed well enough everyone happy.... if fail heads surely would have rolled.

Lets see if Malaysia really make good on SU57.

The article said Kuwait operates C/D model Hornets.

In any case more legacy Hornets is better than none if their Flankers can’t fly. And they already have the supply chain due to their 8 D models.

That being said, Malaysia’s Air Force is woeful with just 8 Hornets and 18 Flankers plus a dozen Hawk trainers pretending to be front line fighters.

Even setting aside Singapore, the air forces of Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam are easily twice as large as Malaysia’s. How can they expect to enforce their claims in the SCS?

Once ... if...  indonesia manage to phase in their new Rafales and F15s, their force would be considered very formidable even to ours.

Lets see if malaysia would go russian or PRC in aircraft... BOTH are in my opinion just as bad. Russian one cant work properly, PRC one 🤔

That’s a very big If, they would need to have the money for it. It is one thing to express interest and another thing to fork over the cash for the toys. Remember they lost what I think was the second oldest operational submarine off Bali a while back.

And Singapore already has the F-35 lined up assuming that Indonesia does acquire any number of 4.5 generation jets.

But then again it is irrelevant because it is not in Singapore’s interest to pick a fight with TNI-AU nor can the Indonesians concentrate their forces such is the span of their territory.

While on the topic of Indonesia, the Natuna Regency, while not claimed by China, could be an extremely strategic outpost for any forces aligned against China in a conflict over the nine dash line.

For aircraft, it's really the maintenance and whole package deal. Many countries can service a ship cos at least for propulsion. Or even helicopters. Military grade vs commercial isn't much difference.

But for a jet engined fighter it's totally different story. The specialized spare parts and strict maintenance schedule. Everything is fly by wire nowadays. All intricate machines.

That's where our commitment defers from our neighbours.

In car cameras?

Very good leh, what brand?😆

Is this around Ubi? See a lot of jets flying low there,  if go to some of the hdb, can get very good close shots.
