Good leader which can prioritises importance of tasks as well can manage well and lead difficult to find. I have worked for few companies and i see many of those managers, GM and directors, i always wonder why and how they can reached that level? 😅 Some really cmi and yet sitting so high on top.

Many of those take ideas from others and make it theirs and they usually sacrifice those working for them to please the top.

Too bad if you're an honest fellow :XD:

'Working hard' is not for Gen Zs and Millennials: survey

More than six in 10 workers said sacrificing personal time will raise salaries.

The majority of employees believe that reducing personal time and work-life balance will help them achieve career and financial growth but the younger generation said they are not willing to do so, according to survey results from job search website, Indeed.

In its report, Indeed said Millennials and Generation Z employees said they are less willing to work hard to advance their roles. Whilst almost half or 46% of those aged 16 to 24 sacrifice time for better wage, almost 60% of the 45 to 54 age group do so.

Nishita Lalvani, senior manager of Indeed Southeast Asia and India, said younger workers are less confident that working hard will give them benefits that previous generations had.

Over three in five young workers or those aged 16 to 24 years old said they are looking to shift to a job that has flexibility and only 17% of those between 45 and 54 years old are doing the same.

Conversely, Indeed’s study said 69% of Generation X and Boomers said it's more difficult to achieve professional and financial goals for younger workers and mistake the youth’s frustrations for fear of working hard.

20 years ago we also transited from 5.5 days working week to 5 days

the Saturday mornings damn redundant tbh, wasted time to travel to and fro office just for that 3 hours work 😁

but need civil/public sector to take the lead first

Taking away that 0.5 day maybe still easier than taking away 1 day. So from 5 days work week to 4 days work week, not that easy to happen. Maybe need to wait another decade or so?! I think all companies now if they can accept and implement WFH work arrangment to their current work week, already consider some breakthrough liao. 4 days work week still have to wait long long.

Thought now youngsters want to become social media Influencer? Since Influencer income seems like quite good?

however, there are always smart and not so smart people around

the not so smart ones, at least if they work hard, they still have chance to succeed and live comfy

worst are those not so smart and yet lazy, and still everyday dream of riches and easy life

From 5 days to 4 days work week most likely we have to start work earlier and end work later. Would you want it?

it will become 8am to 7pm. For those who have to work OT daily, they prob won't complain.

But a daily 7pm get off work will mean get home 8pm liao, which is likely to mean no family dinner, no time to exercise. Long run might not be good.

Definitely a no no for me to get off work late. Work life balance is important for me, and i am not a workaholic person, not like some people their life only have work work work. Maybe this is why my boss dont like me. Too nua liao. Lol.

Start early is how early le?  Start work at 8am already quite common for many people esp in industrial area. For CBD usually start work time should be 8.30am to 9pm. So if CBD change to start work at 8am, maybe still not so bad. But for those who already start work at 8am, if change to start work at 7am or 7.30am like a bit too early liao.

Agreed with this. I am working in Jurong industrial and starts work at 8am. If ask me to start even earlier and ends work at 7pm then I rather don't have 4 days work week.

If you already start work at 8am, if change to start work much earlier, you would not end work at 7pm la, the most end work at 6pm. Cause i assume you end work now should be before 5.30pm. Usually start early end early.
