The sun is rising from the west? Will foresee a lot of nonsense coming up just before the next GE, and let see how our various ministries handle them. 😅

SINGAPORE - Singaporeans may soon get a new avenue to voice their concerns through a platform where petitions that garner 10,000 supporters will be submitted to the relevant ministries for review.

A prototype of the platform, known as PetitionsSG, has been up since January this year. Currently, petitions can be started and processed on the site, but nothing will be sent to the Government.

Senior software engineer Alwyn Tan at Open Government Products - the platform's developer - said in response to queries from The Straits Times that PetitionSG was created with the goal of empowering citizens to push for change and to connect the most important sentiments from the ground to ministries.

He was one of a team of five who worked on the project.

Open Government Products is an experimental development team within the GovTech which works on technology for the public sectors.

The project group under the guidance of the same department that launch Trace Together and the parking App?

I do not know where you are coming from, but there should be means to verify that those submitting the petition should not be from same organisation to prevent abuse of the system. Any mega church or groups could mobilise its members to do any petition of their liking through such means. Sort of preferential treatment.

What means? Govt tracks your religion but doesn't track which church you go to.

Should make a petition app, retrieve singpass details to make it genuine.

True, because if use email accounts login can create a few identity with e-mails. Overseas and non locals also can join in the fun.

Unlike most of us who are NATO, gig operators go meet people session.

In the end, they win by taking the necessary steps and number.
