Welcome to the club. Similar to you, I am also short-sighted and also lau hua.
So while i can see near, it will take time and effort...
For things that are really small, i end up just taking off my glasses and putting my face very near.
If you find a supplement that really helps our similar condition, do share also.

Just last week I made a purchase for a voucher to make progressive glasses with Eyecon... Haven't make appt yet. I have been taking off my glasses for reading for many years and until recently I am squinting my eyes to read. Also my nasal cavitiy getting more senstive having prolong allergy. Many problems coming after since  I had hyperthyroidism.

Turbocharged

Supplements can at best slow down the degradation of eyesight, it won't cure or reverse the degradation.

Cataract operation will replace your cloudy lens with an artificial lens. Anything you want also can except for x-ray eyes.

Bro, I got this advice from a friend.

Try to look into the distance for 5 mins every hour, it'll go a long way in helping your eyes.

I was told by my daugther's eyes doc to go out in the sun more often. But that is for myopia..  Don't know if lao hua applies or not.

IMO, just handle it with grace all these age related issues and find ways to make it more bearable/comfortable and move on.

That's why I say progressive lens, as things will seems more or less "normal" after.

Not sure about the rest, but I find that my night vision also became bad, but this one I cannot find any way to mitigate besides changing lifestyle. Nowadays seldom go out at night unless necessary.
