Strong S$ is only good in JB. Lol

not really. i was watching some interview of the Venus beauty chain that sells those cheaper toiletries. The managing guy says if not for strong SGD, he cannot keep prices as they are.

Can't disagree but a stronger S$ doesn't cover the profiteering, rent, labor, etc, only the imported components. There is a limit to our FX policy, it is time to suck out some liquidity too, which I think they are already doing.

Some are just profiteering from this situation.

Profit and conscience are inversely related.

Profit is what drives financial efficiency.

But yes, the more money u handle, the more everything just become numbers to you.

It's the dichotomy of our capitalistic system.

US inflation hits 40-year high of 8.6% as food, gas and shelter costs rise

Inflation in the US rose unexpectedly last month to a fresh four-decade high of 8.6%, the labor department said on Friday.

8.6%? Step aside.

I saw Sri Lanka was 39.1%. 😓

Singaporeans are feeling the most inflation pain in petrol prices (35%), followed by utility prices (34%), and at supermarkets (28%)

Yep, reducing petrol tax for a few months is giving a subsidy. First time I heard from our future PM. Good luck to him.
