Inflation coming to hit us hard.

5years ago water price hike was 30%, now 18%(on top of 30%), plus the 2% increase in gst(on top of all the price hikes) it is like more than 50% hike(water alone) in the span of about 5++ years. That's staggering.

Likely will impact food and beverage prices again when we eat out. Looks like hawker food no $6-$8, no talk.

Yeah. Most of the mooncakes are manufactured by a handful of companies, likely in Malaysia. Those restaurants/hotels just pack and box them and sell to enthusiasts at ridiculous prices.

Haven't bought a single box nor eaten a single piece this season. Not a fan, except Haagen Dazs ones long ago.

Exactly, don't fall prey to capitalism.....😁

In addition, to fleece this mooncake thing further, they now come out with various exotic flavours which they obviously charge another arm and a  leg.

Tradition is no more than just a word that boost commercialism to make more money out of consumers

🙄

I only mainly eat those bake ones from those traditional bakery. Cheaper and gooder. Don't like those fancy snowskins except for durian.

Those exotic flavours likely use artificial flavouring.

Wait, this sounds familiar.... Monitoring price increases and ensuring no profiteering.

WTF, I even checked the date of broadcast.
