The Inconvenient Truth: Demise of Singapore Hawker and F&B Culture

But If you are one who's keen to help our Singapore F&B scene, read on, and let's rally and take constructive actions together.

Here we go!

1. Realigning Consumers Expectations.

2. Redefining F&B Business of Today

3. Re-evaluating Government Strategies

A hawker cooking delicious food and achieving wealth and success is blasphemy. Their career objective should be just earning blue collar wage their whole life while serving the nation with "affordable" food as per their customer's expectation.

The hawker legends as we know it will sadly be gone in a generation or two. Get ready for more big conglomerates and landlords with "salaryman hawkers" serving mediocre food in future.

Are it the case now with the big chain food courts and coffeeshops?

i have not found a single place in Singapore that can wow me with their food yet...

by that i mean that i will actually think about returning to experience the dining experience with a week or two.

Turbocharged

If you lunch at the CBD area, lunch with drink average is around $10. While $10 may not sound too expensive in today's living cost, the quality and comfort is a big issue. My POV, you get better in Taipei or Tokyo. Don't know those we use to lunch here have a different option?
