They shouldn't display any cars near the service recep area. Everytime walk to that area all the dramatic flashbacks happen. Maciam in those movies.....lol

What aftersales service? Is there such a thing? I feel that the staff working in the local dealerships didnt go thru that part of the training.

"Conti" car issues are never going to be solved. Some persist to newer car models, it's not like they dont know that the issues are there. And new cars have other and additional problems. LoL...  It is like the car they have made arent focused on giving the buyer satisfaction. Car owners have to compromise in order to enjoy the car they have just bought. To be honest, what a lousy car ownership experience.

I think is difficult to get the retrieve the video. Also difficult to get the viewcam replaced by AD for free.

Just tell them that you want them to replace it and you are paying for it. They will happily do it. Is all about money, no money no service.

My car cam installed by PA as part of the deal went kaputz after 2 yrs. They promptly replaced it no arguments as part of the cam's 3yr warranty

I don't tink they will replace it unless proven it's a faulty set and enuf noise made...they'll only do so with their usual "out of goodwill" to cease the kpkb 😁

Unclaimable as it's a non volvo part...

From experience, Wearnes really sucks.  SE everything also say its normal like he never own a car before.

Miraculously, on the dot after 3 years (warranty ends), SE provides a list of items to change 😂

Car cam is nothing to do with the car IMO . It might have Vulva written in big letters on it but does V manufacture car cams 🤨 . There are similar issues with the BMW branded Korean A.C.E cameras .

As long as the engine / gearbox / electrical is good  . just enjoy the car and forget about this incident .

It's normal for them to say the modus operadi line before the standard list of items...😁

Normally, most will change the so called OEM carcam after 1 year..

I always do that with Korean made cams..

Decent price and quality…

I go with TB DDPai cam. Even more decent prices and long lasting. I even have a spare UHD one that I haven't installed.

The car cam with wowo name on it is some 3rd party China brand slaps with the name. Not a reliable cam. Many owners swap out to more reliable ones.

I'm still using it though just need to check the recordings once in a while to make sure it works. 😁

On the service side...go to volvo polestar singapore club to read on the rantS...the first line staff may be ok but not higher up...

VCC won't entertain email but deflect to AD...even the door lock mechanism fault on certain MY of one model needed LTA to step in to get their attention to rectify...

XC40 is a good model in wowo lineup that has won many awards...just enjoy the ride n care less about the afters ale(space intended to hint bitterness 😁) service so long they take care of it under warranty. Resident Ah Mock, a car nut is into his 2nd XC40 says alot about the car.

Ah mock is a bmw nut who is used to having his cars visit the workshop regularly. Cannot use him as a standard. If it is not worse than a bmw then it is ok.
must use toyota standard. My parent PI toyota wish drive for 10years 1/2006-12/2005 and 180k km only changed

1. engine mounts

2. valve cover gasket.
3. A pair of leaking rear shocks under warranty.

4. one pair of brake pads.
5. one serpentine belt.

everything else was consumables like tires, batteries, oil, air filters.
zero oil leaks till it got scrapped.
sure boring to drive, but utterly reliable.

their current wish since 12/2015. 81k km

only oil changes, batteries and Tyres, wiper blades, Aircon filter so far. Everything else is original from the factory.

Haha had dealt with their parts department once when we had the Renault Kangoo. Never again. Grossly overpriced.
I won’t touch any vehicle brought in by wearnes. Anyway I don’t fit into their customer profile. I money no enough. 🤣

Sorry, me no volvo owner.

You highlighted a safety concern regards the in-house brand of car cam to VCC which got arrowed back to AD, who says it's a root problem as VCC decides on Car Cam brand/factory installed, out of their hands per se.

Prior to this road rage, did u at any time download any footage b4? Or did u check if car cam is working, or working well or assumed it should be well?

Cos it may have already been a malfunctioning or faulty unit from day one, which could be replaced and thus avoided this situation.

Moving forward, good to have it changed and yes, need to periodically do a hard reset of SD card (a common problem, not sure if its related to our friendly Sun).

The main thing is that you can drive more confidently, knowing that your car cam is working well.

No way to retrieve old footage. Can't even be sure it managed to record in first place.

Thanks for sharing. Think wise for all new car owners to check on car cam that came with the ride. And if within warranty, get a new replacement. Otherwise, go for a better set.

This age and time of living, alot  of drivers told to be outright liars. No seed or backbone type.

Stay safe

Cheers

Thanks for sharing.

The cam has been working since i got the car. I have regularly backed up the videos/images and formatted the SD card before reloading into the car cam.

The problem here is, i managed to download the original videos i needed and viewed them right after the incident. When i got home, some how the videos could not play from my handphone. Only when i wanted to retireve the videos from the SD card i realized the videos i downloaded no longer there also. This is when i reached out to the service advisor.

ANyways, thanks for your time. You did share good pointers for car owners to regularly check thier car cams. Its really important tool to help gaurd ourselves. Cheers.

10 yrs of boring drive vs 10 yrs of a more enjoyable driving experience w the occasional visit to WS?

I know which I'd rather choose
