Why getting men to step up at home is a national issue

The White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development put the spotlight on gender equality issues, including the uneven caregiving burden between the sexes. Next: focus on distributing the caregiving load between family, community and state.

On April 8, Mr Tan Kiat How posted a photo of himself with his son Isaac, who is 20 months old. The toddler lay back in a stroller with eyes closed, looking tired, as the father looked at him fondly with concern.

Think it started a couple of months ago, some academic guy said time to look into NS for girls... Now they are fighting back and with white paper no less.

Marriage requires give and take. Man and woman are different, how to have gender equality? If so calculative, better stay single.

Maybe SDU in future will be agency to certify home econ skills for single men and women for better matching. Can't cook? Find a partner who does. Can't iron? Find one who does. Can't do anything? Make sure your partner does or have the financial resources to outsource.

Best thing to achieve in marriage is harmony and synergy....not equality.

Ps. Article behind paywall, so I might have misunderstood it.

KNN you all mistaken liao lah.

Title short charge,  it suppose to be  "Why getting men to step up in bed at home is a national issue"

The key words are "in bed at home" hor..

National issue,  national issue hor!!!!  [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Actually come to think about it,  as long as can produce enough males so that females can continue to enjoy current no NS status, the title would be better off as "Why getting men to step up in bed anywhere in SG is a national issue"  [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Don't be surprised as developed society are emphasising more about equality between sex. This era we have successful career minded women who have proven to be capable or more than men in such a way that either they decided not to get married or married with plan not to have children. Maybe in future men might just take up roles of housemen while women go out for work.

Thats why many family would get a maid to do all housework, maybe cook also if can afford, then no need quarrel on give and take, gender equality and calculative liao.

Not surprise as many women nowadays salary is much more higher than men. So wife earn more than hubby is common now.
