SM Lee's 2 sons Haoyi and Hongyi will be 55 and 57 respectively in 20 years.

PM Wong is childless. There is still a long run way for SM Lee's 2 sons to reconsider politics and take over their grandfather's and father's legacy. 👍

PM wong plans to be PM for 20 years like PM lee? 😅

Are you planning to take over your father's job when he retires or resigns? Of if you have kids, do you plan for them to take over your job too?

We are in a new era, but some people choose to live in the past..

Imho, whichever party one supports.. WP, PAP.. we have to support whoever is chosen to be the PM as he is our representative to the rest of the world. If one day, WP does take over as the main party, it's important for non WP voters to come forward to support whoever is chosen to be the PM too, as he is a fellow Singaporean speaking for all Singaporeans' behalf in the international arena.

I can see how there are arguments and unhappiness about past issues, like ministers salaries, LKY to LHL legacy etc. but this is not the time to attack the new man on the job for the past mistakes made by his predecessors.

Personal attacks or innuendos like he's childless, or he doesn't have anyone to pass money when he passes on or that he's just a mouthpiece.. I'm not sure about the rest but to me this is in bad taste..

Give him a chance first and judge him later?

Or do you want to judge him without even giving him a chance?

Critical thinking and being critical are entirely opposite mindsets.

This is purely hypothetical as all the three past prime ministers have/had children and so do many high performers.

For some people, the kids are their motivation to do well in their careers. For others, they may have ran to work to escape from their children and ended up doing well. So how to tell? Some without children also end up screwing their lives or screwing around..

As the new PM says 'a story of possibilities'...

I think, the two Lee PMs didn't manage their families well. What do you think? No need to tell me, answer yourself in your heart can liao.

Actually I think lao Goh also didn't manage his family well. Didn't his wife spout some nonsense about earning peanuts? :D

Perhaps you can share why their personal lives of the ex-PMs, one who is already gone, are so important to you in this thread about the new PM and about the future of Singapore? My answer to whether they managed their families well wouldn't be of any relevance so say or don't say I really don't think make any difference to anyone.

I'm only concerned whether the rest of us can manage our families better with the new management.

Let's move on and contribute to the betterment of Singapore. Lao lee's management style have definitely offended many as it had benefitted many but that has come to past. Learning points they are but if we still carry that hatchet, we are only going to hurt ourselves as he's gone and soon, inevitably his son.

Criticise, comment, suggest to the new PM if you think it benefits the country. Don't go down that slippery slope of targeting his wife, children, parents because they didn't choose to be in politics and they are innocent. Only LW did.
