my lower ones are impacted but below gumline. It's so deep that my classmate's father said its not possible to remove without risk of nerve injury.

My upper ones - 1 is partly impacted. 1 is fully emerged but due to their location and food being trapped there, starting to decay and occasional gum inflammation in those areas.
This is despite me flossing nightly, using small brushes to brush that area specifically, using electric toothbrush etc.

The gum inflammations can be quite annoying. And if the decay worsen it can affect the 2nd molar beside it. So best not to drag it for too long.

My dentist summed my condition up
- wisdom teeth need to remove. only will get worse not get better
- my front lower teeth are not properly aligned so got tartar build up there. can only be fixed with braces (obviously not going to do that). So that one still need to go for tartar removal regularly.

Get a Male Dentist.

My 1st wisdom tooth extractions was done by a female surgeon.

Had phobia for 10 years.

What happened? I also heard horror story before people went for wisdom tooth extraction by a female dentist. 😅

Upper wisdom teeth quite high risk, so the normal dentists don't dare.

How come upper wisdom teeth quite high risk? Thought it is just normal extraction? Usually only lower wisdom teeth esp when bury deep inside the gum then high risk?

Different risk.

Upper extraction risk damaging the sinuses which only an OMS surgeon can fix. For mine it's only a thin layer of bone separating my upper teeth to the sinus above.
Lower wisdom teeth risk damaging a branch of the dental nerve. This can be evaluated doing a CT scan of the area to see how close the nerve runs.

just removed my upper left wisdom tooth late last yr.....e dentist did not even took a x-ray since not impacted nor buried....from wat i can remember, used an "wedge" to dislodge it, then used an "plier" to pull it out. total time taken ~20mins including anesthetic. didnt realise its a high risk procedure.

fully emerged one maybe lower risk. One of mine is partly emerged so definitely need X-ray. Think they cannot pry it out. They have to break it up.
Anyway just let the professionals decide.
