When Ukraine launches an operation without informing USA, it is usually successful. But when it informed and work with USA, the plan failed drastically. The summer counter offensive is a good example how Biden cost Ukraine many lives and wasted effort, extended the war in Russia's favor.  The Kursk operation was successful in the beginning without informing Biden. But in the end It collapse rapidly because of Trump switching off intelligence and comm and somehow Putin knew the right time pull his force from donetsk front and consolidate them at Kursk.

 

The oil refinery strikes are also without biden's blessing but it hurts putin pocket.

Russians in the poorer areas get a lump sum of US$3500 for signing up as soldiers.

Their normal salary is just US$250 - 650 a month so US$3500 is very attractive.

Families of soldiers can buy a condo for a down payment of use 2%.

The normal condo deposit is 20%.

And if the soldier dies the family gets up to US$170,000.

So if a family send one son to the war they can get a condo

IMHO, the time is ripe for Putin to bring forward any major offensive. Trump has created the right conditions to do so, especially with the mineral deals not going thru, the threat of cutting off supplies and military intelligence during this period, it's really golden for Putin. No wonder Putin is not honoring any cease fire and continue to show bad faith in any coming ceasefire deal that Trump admin is trying to achieve (or not). Trump may still claim credit to have stopped the war, but only thru great loss of Ukraine.
