From various statement by various leader from US and EU. I believe ukraine going to lose more land then it gain( if it even get to keep those Russia land it gain now.) 

And ukraine still won't get to join Nato. It won't even get to join EU with its current financial state

US has just as much if not more rare earths, but NIMBY selfishness made them want to have the resource without the negativities

Ukraine Rare Earth Stock pile is huge. Putin had created the opportunity for Trump to be what he is, an opportunist. I hope the peace deal,.if any, will not be compromising Ukraine territories , especially the area where they have  their rare earth. If the world allows putin to take what is occupied, then it gives him the messgae that whatever he needs in future, just go start a SMO. But trump is one that does not make decision base on common sense, so it is hard to anticipate what will be ahead of the peace talk for Ukraine

Contrary to its misnomer “Rare” earth, it is not rare.

Rare stems from the difficulty in extraction in pure form, involving lots of externalities.

Also contrary to your belief, trump has a simple but realist view of the world, full of common sense.

It is simple common sense to make your country strong, where u just prey on weaker countries, especially if they are heavily reliant on you.

Sucking up to him only takes you so far, if you are not capable.
 

Results and obedience is the crux to his employment, much like any corporate culture, compared to most politicians where only obedience matters

I never understood why Singapore had to sell off core infrastructure such as power plants, when I wore the trump hat of thinking, especially to red China, because monetary gains does not matter in adversarial times.

Really had a very bad feeling for Ukraine on this Trump/Putin serious long talk. Trump's administration has been talking about this prior to winning the seat. And put into action after the talk.

This reinforces the idea of security guarantee is a worthless promise especially so if is in exchange for giving up your nuclear and missile arsenals.  Very hard and painful lesson or Ukraine.

The way I see it, the partial 4 regions and Crimea will stay with Russia. Occupied territories will stay unrecognize by Ukraine, and EU.  Putin wants 100% of the 4 regions though, which he yet to fully occupies.

it will then be the start of justifications for bigger countries to bully smaller ones. seems like in the end the message will be each for himself.

Our defense philosophy was always deterrence to make the aggressor hurt badly such that it makes no sense to attack.

maybe one further deterrence is to have some nuclear power stations here. make it such that if i die... everyone also dies.

the fool practically told Xi, it can attack Taiwan, and US will look the other way.

bcuz trump is a president of peace, no war. Whatever land you can grab, you keep.

US is spending too much money to help allies, so it will probably downside and cut defence budget, under trump.

smaller countries should now strive to acquire nuclear weapons, since they are no longer "protected".
