Reality on the ground from UK journalist and our Singaporean mil blogger on frontline changes.  Defense line are collapsing faster daily. Diarrhea getting worst. What help is needed (short of NATO ground troops) for Ukraine to overturn this? I say current help is not enough to make it into a stalemate. Situation is bad as when Avdiivka was about to fall. Russia did pull a good one at Kharkiv to pull away large number of Ukrainian reserves to defend the norther border. Zelensky spelt out to the west what they need, they need to be equipped and allow to strike freely into Russia, especially those air base that launched SU34/35 carrying the FAB bombs. These bombs literally destroy any defense line be it trenches or buildings.

Between Trump and Biden, both choices I feel were favoured by Putin. Biden being weak, but provide the stimulus, opportunities, time and Putin gladly sacrifice his men to improve and strengthen their position. Russia before 2022 invasion was full of corrupted official resulting in poor logistic and sup par elite soldiers who failed to acquire a swift victory. Now the successors of these fallen corrupted officials are more competent as well as ruthless..

1800KM. These TUXX bombers are the ones launching the cruised or ballistic missiles from the safety distance beyond at the Caspian Sea. Again all Ukraine needs are the same missile capabilities as Russia to destroy all these planes in deep inside Russia. Russia AD within Russia territory is weak, coz most of them are nearer at the frontline or at Putin's bunker.

There are reports that the successor of Prigozhin for the Wagner group has been killed in the Mali. They were on the way to attack a city controlled by Mali Rebel but kenna ambushed. Over 80 causalities and a downed helicopter. A huge blow to the wagner group and Russian interest in Africa. If true, Wagner have to look for another leader.

They have arrived. But they won't have any impact on the frontlines, as these planes are limited for air defenses. Can't even shoot at SU34/35 FAB bombers that are still inside Russia. So no relief for the Ukrainian soldiers at the frontlines.

Aside from the aircraft themselves what’s important is the ordnance that comes with them.

The F-16 is a multi-role aircraft that does different things depending on its load out. Remember that Ukraine retrofitted their MiG-29 to carry anti-radar missiles?

Well, the F-16 is designed for it.

I wouldn’t be surprised that the F-16 does unexpected missions aside from the declared ones.

I think they are going slow. Get the pilots to fly and hit incoming missiles and drones first. That should be their safe practice.

Once they are more experience, other more dangerous missions will be carried out. US agreed to supply weapons, but these will probably be restricted to what they can be used for.

russia will be seeking to hit any F-16 for propaganda gain.

In the mean time, fake F-16 will be produced, the more the better.

The sad reality of the front line. July is supposed to be better with the aids of USA arriving. But USA is trickling those 60 bn fund. But it just diarrhea for the Ukraine defense, especial of the last week, it's not 100m or 200m, it's km sq.   It's really depressing watching the frontline. Only Vovchansk, nearer at Kharkiv, that Ukraine are gaining well. But I fear that it just Russian sacrificing cannon fodders there to keep most Ukraine reserve there and weakewning the eastern front.

F16 is not going to relieve the pressure on the frontlines if they are not going to do anything to the Fab bombers like Su34/35. Ukraine AD at the front lines are also severely weakened, that is why it has been a long time we heard of any Su bombers being taken down.

This is so liked like "The Americans" TV series in real life. Where spies lead ordinary life, even starts a family and raise children (unaware that their parents are spies) in the country they are spying. And once their cover are blown, the Russian embassy will flyb them back for a hero welcome.
