Belgorod is a juicy target for Ukraine. But better if they can hit Moscow and St Petersburg

Hopefully Ukraine will continue to hold its high moral ground and strike only at military targets, and not civilian targets, unlike the barbarian orcs.

russian civilians should learn the war is coming home to them., the chickens are coming home to roost.

Zelenskyy: Next year the enemy will experience the fury made in Ukraine

"Next year the enemy will experience the fury made in Ukraine. Ukraine-manufactured weapons, equipment, artillery, munitions, drones, our naval weapons and at least one million Ukrainian FPV drones. Finally, they’ll taste that: on land, in the air, and of course at sea. Our Black Sea. This year, like never before, the enemy experienced that they don’t belong there. Our Black Sea operations marked a black page in the history of the ruscist navy.

Their landing ships can confirm this, as can their missile carriers and patrol corvettes that are now lying on the bottom of the sea. Our Zmiinyi (Snake) Island is now free of their snakes and their flag."

I don't think we as bystanders should hold Ukraine to higher moral ground. It's easy to say that when we are not the one feeling the pain from repeated punches that Russia is raining for almost two years. Ukraine's hands cannot be tight because of bystander expectation.

Situation will escalate to worst. No ones wants it, but Putin had vow to carry on. Is it fair that Russia should feel the pain of the Putin's invasion on Russian soil?

Russia defense of their homeland has been shown rather weak from the frequent Russian rebel incursion and the Progozhin's march to Moscow.

Can we draw similar comparison with Hamas threaten to repeat Oct 7, and that Israel had to disable Hamas to mitigate the threat.

Sea drones that can fire rockets? Need more confirmation. Drone warfare has just risen to another level.

He of course has to put up a brave front, but reality is, unfortunately, quite different. His top commander, Zaluzhny already voiced his personal doubts months ago, about how the war is progressing, and he is the military commander with knowledge of the real situation on the front lines, not the politicians in Kiev.

Ukraine did manage to score some spectacular successes in one-off operations, but taking out prominent targets in special ops does not win a war. The war can only be won by ground forces pushing back the enemy and taking back territory. But the front lines are now almost static, fixed in WW1 trench battles and artillery exchanges.

The longer the war grinds on, the more the balance tips in favour of Russia and Putin, with their ability to tolerate huge losses in manpower and equipment. Massive casualties may eventually cause a revolt by the armed forces, but so far the mutinies have been very sporadic and isolated events, and unlikely to trigger regime collapse.

Even after the Wagner rebellion and elimination of Prigozhin, there was hardly any effect on the Russian side. Putin is still firmly in control in 2024. It's something unthinkable to us outsiders, but a sizeable part of the russian population actually supports his actions and endorse his leadership.

Yes, with prominent people falling out of windows or dying through random incidents, I’ll hazard that Putin firmly retains control not through merit but through persuasion or elimination.

For a country with no navy, it’s pretty impressive how they’ve helped their opponents increase their submarine fleet in the Black Sea

Actually with the way russian destroying Ukraine, there is nothing Ukraine cannot or should not shoot, but i dont think Ukraine will do that, and after all, they have enough russian military targets to aim for.

It seems the latest missiles attack onto Ukraine, which is a few hours ago, had one of their own missiles striking a Russian village.  Putin doesn't really care.

Ukrainian troops blow up Russia’s newest radar system

Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed a state-of-the-art Russian counter-fire radar system, the 1K148 “Yastreb-AV,” valued at approximately $250 million.

According to the local media, Ukrainian troops detected the Yastreb-AV and relayed the coordinates to artillery units within the Ukrainian military. This led to a precise strike executed with HIMARS, effectively neutralizing the threat posed by the Russian radar system.

Reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that this cutting-edge system had only recently been deployed to artillery units stationed within Ukraine’s territory.

So far from demo on YouTube, this should be the ultimate drones killer. Even for fpv drones that are hard to shoot.

I think we could use something like that.

A drone attack , especially sustained,  would surely be a tactic our potential enemies would adopt.

A very good explanation of the technical side of oil extraction business.

Plus the Saudis are watching,  they will flood the market to knock Russian oil down if they can. Money money money

Strangely... parts of Moscow is freezing due to no heating. Too much oil and gas, but no heat 🤷‍♂️

Some say losing close to 400k working age men have consequences.

Ukraine doesn't have long range missile to destroy Russia energy infrastructures. But they have their ways of depriving the Russian of heats.
