Mineral and energy resources were said to be the real reason for invasion.

Not just because those are valuable in themselves,  but more to ensure ukraine cannot break Moscow monopoly.

Now these rare earth could be a bargaining chip.

Very obvious that is why nobody wants to have war in Sahara desert. Now we see who want it more. 😆

Russia already controlled a large part of Natural gas and coal in occupied Donetsk and Luhansk. And some Rare Earth deposit in the Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk.  Can see this is all targeted by Russia. Those simi NATO expansion are just excuse, simply Finland who share a huge border with Russia became a member with no threat or invasion from Russia.

Ukraine Rare Earth Stock pile is huge. Putin had created the opportunity for Trump to be what he is, an opportunist. Exploiting a war torn country in plight who is fighting for it's existence.  But will he be an effective provider of military aid? I consider Biden's aid as ineffective and only prolong the war.

Mirage 2000 has landed in Ukraine. Pilots were trained for a few months. Probable initial deployment is shooting down missiles and drones.

More cost effective to mine in Russia itself, akin to justify Malaysia attacking Pulau Ubin for granite reserves and geothermal power

It has the biggest landmass as a country in the world.

Ukraine's unmined resource is just icing on the cake

The war is really more to prevent Ukrainian O&G breaking Russian energy hold on Europe. Russia doesn't really produce anything but energy,  weapons,  grains.

Lose the energy card... Russia will be real third world.

The rare earths are  bonus.

Ya already known.

Another thing is Biden's admin has deliberately trickle down the aids in smaller batches aids that only achieve short term goal for propaganda and moral boosting. But when and where more are needed for real strategic strikes, the Biden puts hell lot of restrictions. Cost some missed opportunities.

So Ukraine has natural resources that US wants

and willing to exchange for weapons to Ukraine

so that Moscow cannot get their grubby hands on it.

:D

Good deal for Ukraine.

Russia survived WW2 because it took  unimaginable amounts of weapons and aid  from the US. Large parts was eventually written off.... largely by Russians themselves😂

China survived WW2 because the US Navy defeated Japan in the Pacific... now China tells Ukraine to give up while it even accepted the Flying Tigers and weapons from the US like Russia did,  also written off... CCP pattern 😂

UK very steady, eventually paid off in 2006 iirc, never just say it's "historical document" .

But WW2 lend lease terms were actually very generous for recipient nations.
