Jamesc Hypersonic June 28 Share June 28 Russia is losing 1,000 soldiers a day in its relentless 'meat grinder' tactics against Ukraine: Starving N Korean soldiers will be sent into the meat grinder. Wonder how much money Fatty Kim will get for each soldier? On 6/27/2024 at 9:30 PM, Kb27 said: Nk announced it will send a team of "engineers" to Ukraine. US/West is watching. I believe Ukraine wouldn't care less, they will be war participants and legitimate targets. Apparently, they struck some Iranian "instructors" in russia, Shahed factory/training buildings got wiped out. ↡ Advertisement

Kb27 Supersonic June 28 Share June 28 (edited) Ukraine drone still intact after ramming. 😁 Next time, they could possibly armed it with swords or hammer. It's a drone war. More tactics will evolve. Everyone will have to learn from Ukraine after this. Ukrainian Forces Start Shooting Down Russian Recon Drones The Russian military complains about the interception of its reconnaissance copters by Ukrainian drone-hunters, according to Militarnyi. Ukrainian forces have already proved their ability to intercept Russian medium-sized reconnaissance drones of the fixed-wing type using FPV drones. And this trend seems to be spreading to small reconnaissance drones like Mavic. Telegram channels affiliated with the Russian army are increasingly complaining about the loss of their “frontline scouts” to Ukrainian drones hunting them. In particular, the Black Swan Strike Group of the 225th Separate Assault Battalion recently posted a video of a drone operator ramming a Russian Autel copter, causing it to crash. “Another successful aerial duel from the Black Swan pilots. This time, the invaders lost an Autel reconnaissance drone. I wonder how our pilots find them?” the military commented on the result of the strike. The potential loss of a significant number of reconnaissance drones by the Russian army could severely hamper their ability to control the battlefield and adjust artillery fire. This may give the Ukrainian military an advantage on the battlefield. The video shows the downing of an enemy copter without the loss of a Ukrainian drone. But even if it were lost, it would still be beneficial, as the difference in cost could be a multiple of five FPV drones. This shows the successful destruction of at least six Russian Orlan drones and two ZALA drones. Ender Hypersonic June 30 Share June 30 Currently Ukraine are not allowed to hit Airfield inside Russia with Western weapons. Yes, it is the Biden administration, they suggest they take down those SU 34 bombers when they are on air.
Ender Hypersonic June 30 Share June 30 Not I say one. Biden administration is weak. During their term, all the trouble making countries in Russia axis become more daring in their aggression.
Volvobrick Supersonic July 1 Share July 1 On 6/25/2024 at 7:49 PM, Kb27 said: The new Hawkeye 105mm howitzer being tested in Ukraine, on the orcs of cuz. 😁 It uses soft-recoil and allow small lightweight, high mobility vehicle like Humvee to be used - Shoot and scoot. Ukraine is the new proving ground. https://www.twz.com/land/humvee-mounted-low-recoil-105mm-howitzer-to-make-combat-debut-in-ukraine The Ukrainian military is set to be one of the first to use a so-called “soft recoil” artillery piece in combat, if it hasn’t already, according to U.S. defense and automotive contractor AM General. The weapon could give Ukraine’s forces a useful new shoot-and-scoot artillery capability. How the self-propelled 105mm low-recoil howitzer performs in Ukraine might have impacts beyond the battlefields there, especially for the U.S. Army, which has had an on-again-off-again interest in weapons of this type. Mike Evans, AM General‘s Director of Soft Recoil Technologies & Fires Programs, mentioned during a panel talk at the U.S. Field Artillery Association’s Fires Symposium 2024 back in May. His comments only came to wider attention this past weekend after a video, seen below, from the symposium began circulating on social media. Evens does not mention the system in question by name in the clip, but AM General only publicly offers one soft recoil 105mm, the Hawkeye Mobile Howitzer System (MHS), mounted on an up-armored M1152 two-door cargo truck version of the 4×4 Humvee (sometimes referred to as a “2-CT” type). “I’ll give you a recent experience that we have. We recently put a 105[mm] system into Ukraine. We shipped it … [in] April. … We trained [on] it for two weeks. They immediately went into testing. And that system is destined to be one of the first soft-recoil systems in combat,” Evans said. “It’s going right into combat to test on live targets.” AM General has been working on the Hawkeye MHS since at least 2016 in partnership with Mandus Group, which developed the howitzer itself. As already noted, Hawkeye’s most notable feature is its soft-recoil system. The vast majority of modern howitzers feature a recoil mechanism wherein the barrel and breach assemblies move backward to help absorb the force of firing. The platform the weapon is mounted on, whether it be a vehicle or a towed carriage, still typically experiences significant strain in the process. This, in turn, generally precludes lighter vehicles like the Humvee from being used as the chassis for self-propelled howitzers. Not protected, not particularly fast to deploy, slow to load. With soft recoil, and the range will be reduced and accuracy affected. Lousy system. I won't bother. PS. 105 is not particularly heavy, a medium truck can tow plus carry the ammo. This cockeye I mean hawkeye will need another truck for the ammo.

Jamesc Hypersonic July 1 Share July 1 Russia losing 1,000 men a day but no problem. Getting thousands from Gaza, North Korea, India and China. The problem is modern tanks. Russia has lost most of the T80s, T72 and T90. The rest are need to refurbish tanks and T55 and T62 from the 1950's and 60's.
