Maybe they know smth we dont. Like $200K just for COE. 3 should be enough for rich dwellers in HDB.

But seriously if ppl expect them to install fast charging points and many of them....they will have to upgrade the infrastructure that will cost a lot of money.

@Watwheels

Maybe the few of us can start business selling "EV power bank" or "Portable Generator" for EV.

Some people required these devices for driving EV into JB. 🤣

Currently, these service can provide 5 minutes battery power.

Enough to crawl to the nearest charging station

3/cp would be enough for whole country if fast charging

Guess more money to be made rolling out slow and outdated tech multiple times🙄

The most is 5 minutes of battery after 1hr of charging.

Supercharged

3 is ok but i quote...."These charging points will “mostly provide low-powered, overnight charging”, to meet the needs of car owners and minimise the load on the electrical grid, said Transport Minister S Iswaran on Tuesday (Mar 8)."

Overnight charging? n 3+ slots oni per carpark....wat r they thinking? If every car is a ev here, as targeted....:a-bang:

The maths calculation by the scholars is like this:

Every EV only charge once a week. Every EV driver in the neighbourhood are very nice and considerate (like PAP) and only plug in when they are near 0%.

So 1 charger can see theoretically service 7 different EVs rotating nicely as if the owners are all brothers and sisters coordinating with a duty rooster. 3 chargers can then serve 21 EVs! Hurray!

3 points in 1 MSCP is really too few as there are many inconsiderate people in singapore. They will plug in and not plug out even if fully charged.

Perhaps there can be a mechanism built into the charging point: Before you plug in, you need to register with your NRIC, tel number and a prepaid amt of $200 (though credit card or some prepaid card). When fully charged, the system will send you a SMS. You have a grace period of 15 min to unplug and move your vehicle. If you do so within that 15 min grace period, you get back $200 less amt charged for the electricity. For every min after the grace period of 15 min, you will be charged $5/min which will be deducted from your deposit when you finally unplug.

Until the day where charging only takes 5mins and can last at least 1000km... then it probably a feasible option for most drivers

3 charging point definitely not enough

3 charging stations in 1 MSCP?? And they expect us to take up EVs? Expensive and not enough charging stations. They think everybody stay landed like them and have charging station in their houses ah?? Time for scholars to come up with fines for everyone to share these 3 charging stations.

This kind of charger is for lazy ass la.

It will be a 5kw charger.

If wait till Low batt then charge, confirm 8hrs for 40kwh battery.

They should be building more solar farms to provide juice to the cars.

Solar farm in Singapore is inefficient.

In Aust, it is 100%. In Sg, it is 30%.
