This is different but same same use of CT scan machine. Calcium scoring is meant for health screening only. But if you are already diagnose with CAD, then use CT coronary angiogram to determine how much plaque inside the coronary arteries. Different protocol for different purpose.

So the one scan you mentioned cannot determine how many percentage that your heart arteries got blocked?

Can buy GTN outside? How this thing works?

When go exercise, esp hiking, a must to carry phone with you, cause you never know when you need it.

This one i am not too sure.  I think it's prescription drug.  But my friend is a doctor so he might have "sources".  Also he is not local.  So he might have gotten it from overseas.  But he does not have history of heart disease.

25 years old is abit too young to have high cholesterol. Consider high risk.

Genetic.  I also found out that I have high cholesterol around that age.

Both my LDL and HDL are super high.  Diet, exercise and weight loss does help much.  Only medication worked.

Ok i got it liao. So after knowing the scoring, so if it indicate some CAD risk then can go do the CT coronary angiogram (with calcium) to find out what is the percentage of the blockage and how many arteries are block.

Ya, if genetic, even your diet is super healthy and exercise a lot, cholesterol level should still be high. Have to take medication to reduce the risk from stroke and heart attack.

But if your HDL is super high is good for you la. It is the LDL and triglyceride cannot be high.

Ya, I think for that ns guy is really genetic.. Normally we start to worry about Cholesterol at around our middle age..  But I only started doing health screen at late 30's.  Wasnt thinking of health at 25, hence never knew if I had high choleststerol at that age.

If genetic even in 20s or even younger already have cholesterol problem, just that still not high enough to trigger something bad to happen. Now think back during my NS time quite siong and my exercise level also quite intense and even i used to go to high intense cardio class in gym, i did not know i have genetic cholesterol back then and lucky no sudden collapse during that time. 😅

I used to work in this hospital that conducts fitness tests for the staff.  Those who know the famous CEO will know which hospital it is.  This was in 2004.  Anyway, I went for a 1.2 km run.  Now, this run is not a wayang one because timing is taken and it is calculated towards your overall fitness AND it will affect your performance appraisal.

Anyway, I was still young then and decided to chiong.  I made good timing but then they put an SPO2 probe on me.  Apparently they want to see what is your pulse rate as well.  Not sure if there is a score on that to see how fit you really were (like you made the timing but did you chiong very hard or were you able to meet timing while relaxed).  Anyway, my PR registered at 180+ a minute.  I remember the staff looking at me and asking if I was all right.  I said sure.  Just need to cool down more.

Thinking back, it could have been dangerous but I was worried at that time on how my timing would affect my bonus.
