Sold my car through consignment agent but yet to receive my full payment

Hi all need to ask for opinion here.

i sold off my car thru a consignment agent last month. Did the transfer of ownership on 28-Jan and was told I will get the rest of payment for my car in about 10 days time. 10 days passed money never come in. Tell me will transfer by 15-Feb cos CNY blah, blah, blah. 15-Feb passed again CNY , COVID blah blah blah..

I am getting a bit worry. I have buy and sell cars before but all thru AD. First time selling thru a consignment agent. Is it normal to take this long for the fund to be release?
 

in case I don’t get my money back any channel I can pursuit to get back my money?

1. why consign? 

2. why transfer before receiving full payment? 

I just helped a friend sold his car. Dealer paid full BEFORE online transfer a few hours later. I think they more worried than me...

I will be worried. Very worried. 

How much is involved? Pls give a final date and if no payment, make a police report. 

Share consign dealer's name for blacklist and ultimately, u will need to lodge a claim with Small Claims Court. 

U have been too trusting. Never do ownership trsf without full payment made.

Have you ever owned a car where ownership was transferred to you without you having made full payment?

Which sane person will transfer car to third party before received full cash payment!!!???… 😒😒😒😒

Dunno what opinions TS is hoping to hear but it isn't looking good

Basic (common sense) rule: No Cashier's order on hand, no transfer

This is an unfortunate noob move, consignment agent is just a middle man, TS had to have payment in hand before authorising transfer like COD. Faster go make police report and have a lawyer in hand to send letter of demand.

Give chance la. I was the same at Flowerpod as I don't login regularly, only when I need information. Sometimes when I read replies, it could be days, weeks or even months later. Not everybody uses the forum like us on an almost daily basis.

Let this be a warning to all who don’t already know. 
must have a proper cashiers order or cash before a transfer is done. 
yes cashiers order can be reported loss or cancelled but a police report needs to be made. Doubt any would want to pull such a stunt to cheat. But who knows. 
or go with paynow limits at 200k which should be enough for most transactions. 
Tell the consignment dealer no cash no transfer and tell them to get lost! 
car trade is the father of scams. Hahah

In short, it's cheating. So do make a police report and WA the boss the police report. 

 

If they pay up, you could always retract the police report later. Action needs to be done to make them not procrastinate further.

Maybe consignment dealer offer sibei good price as part of the scam? Then sorts of cock & bull story cum out to withhold payment while they run road

For me it’s always show me the money. Car Dealers all talk cock. Money talks, bulls**ts walks. 🤣
