@Arogab

Sea fishing not in Thailand, tried in Phuket but not really like it. Heaven boat trip is Indonesia or Malaysia, some of dive life on board boat become fishing boat during low diving season. My experience was more on Indonesia side.

Don't anchor, boat man will know to float the boat. Use small sinkers and drop near bottom. Note the chance to get stuck when you have too heavy sinker. I went to pull out some pics. The one the boatman holding was a lucky one

Thai Fishing guide: Bad Boy +66815563220

https://thailand-fish.com/

He appeared in those discovery channel giant stingray program. I took his service twice before, but many years liao dunno if he still active. Very knowledgable, cant go wrong. You just need to show up, everything else he can arrange.

Bro, I went to Pilot 111, not impressed, they have the Barramundi pond, also with other catfish for catch and release. But so near and small for the pond. This one no need guide.

I also went to Bungsamram Fishing Resort. The fishes are impressive. But it is like carrot foreigners one for that kind of pricing. Found out Locals pay 300 baht for Monday and Wednesday (Cheaper than Pilot 111) and other days at 500 baht only.

They use those bomb to fish the huge catfish. I probably go looking for those more natural places if there are any and enjoy the stay in the quiet places if there is.

Those huge cats are unlikely to be found easily in the wild anymore leh... also endangered liao.

@Arogab No more toman pond and pacu pond in Pilot 111? The main pond near reception last time the big one. I haven't been there for 2 years plus now. All their ponds were catch and release but you could buy the fish or ask restaurant to cook on spot.

The Thai restaurant next to 7 seas tackle shop in Bungsamram still there? this pond charge THB 2000 for farang, but caddy included last time. So they prepare the bomb for you (need to pay by kg) and for some tip they will bait and cast for you......

One place that I would like to try last time in Thailand was Amazon fishing park to catch monster araipaima, but I don't like fishing with life bait and especially need to buy chicken blood according one of the guide that i contacted before.

actually, for me, without the guide doing the bait and casting , i wouldnt be able to fish bungsamram.

i simply dont have the experience and skill to cast the huge bait balls anywhere near properly 😬

pasir ris farmway pond still has mekong cats. but the pond really too small to compare and the catch rate is nowhere near what it was when i first fished there.

I know what you mean but there are still some reasonable sizes and common variety out in Chao Phraya in the open. Just more difficult. I was talking to my colleague and he lives in Kanchanaburi which still has many rivers out there. Still sourcing

Pilot 111, there is still toman and pacu ponds. I donno if it is the same set up, but both ponds left and right of the cafe is still considered small to me although it is their largest ponds. And what I mean as in "No Kick" is that the fish bites fiercely during the feeding time and the distance to hit the fish is just 3 to 5 meters from where you stand and no suspense in the fishing.

And worse, they charge 200/kg of Baramundi with cooking charge at half of the selling price. My wife say the price she can cook till we eat until vomit if buy from market. Haha

And that is why I say Bungsamram is cut carrot for foreigners. Anyway, I can be with my locals and pay just the 500 for fishing and 500 for baits without staying. Still looking for more places
