F1 will therefore continue to visit the city of Singapore from 2022 to 2028 inclusive, after a multi-year extension was agreed between Singapore GP Pte Ltd (SGP), the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and Formula 1.

Although it's been two years since the Singapore Grand Prix, first held in 2008, has taken place – due to the global pandemic – the event will return in 2022 as part of this 23-race season.

F1 VTL? Set up the F1 Village as a quarantine zone lol. Visitors cannot leave the F1 Village and locals have to check themselves into the F1 Village for the entire weekend too and quarantine themselves thereafter for the next seven days. Lol. TADA. My masterplan.

🥱

On one hand want to charge us for plastic bags at supermarkets (which we need to use to bag our wet trash and dog poo), on the other invite all these highly polluting sports to dirty the air and cause inconvenience to us. Hypocrisy at its best.

F1 has outlive its usefulness here. It is time to stop!

You all don’t know only. When the F1 circus comes to town, it may as well be a bubble because they pretty much call the shots for everything within the compound. I would not be surprised if they have VTL and separate grandstands for tourists and locals so there is no mixing.

Another 7 years of watching some rich angmo kids speeding down our streets at > 300km/h? Please go elsewhere.

Was hoping to see the last of F1 in Singapore. Sigh.

But the success of Night F1 was due to the concerts rather than the actual race. Will there be the usual big concerts at the Padang for the 3 days event?

Who is going to be the corporate sponsor? Singapore Airlines? It is still not profitable, needing bailout from shareholders. Push it back to Singtel? DBS?
So, the $$$ have to come from the government, either directly or indirectly. Gov want to raise GST to fund "social spending"???
The attraction of F1 include public concerts (with large crowds gathering), tourist freely spending and moving around. The government will need lots of foreigners to come to Singapore in order to make F1 successful. I betcha Singapore will have fully opened borders before F1 re-commence here.

Last time was easy...we were the only night race with concerts...now night races are a dime a dozen..the last race that determined mad max as the champ had fireworks that made the ones at our marina bay look like kiddo sparklers..
