BabyBlade Internal Moderator January 18, 2022 Share January 18, 2022 https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/hong-kong-orders-hamster-cull-after-covid-19-hits-pets-2442871 The outbreak of Delta variant cases in humans linked to the shop worker prompted tests on hundreds of animals, with 11 hamsters showing up positive. That has brought a pet rodent clampdown on Chinese-ruled Hong Kong, which is following the mainland's zero-tolerance approach to COVID-19 even as much of the world shifts to living with it. The territory's Health Secretary Sophia Chan stressed at a news conference that there was no evidence domestic animals can pass the disease to humans, but authorities were anyway acting out of caution to ban imports and sales of pet rodents. Still living in the shadows of COVID-19, are we? Maybe we should start culling humans since we are the ones transmitting the virus. RIP my furry friends! Insert two cute hamsters below. ☹️ ↡ Advertisement 1 3 2

Watwheels Supersonic January 18, 2022 Share January 18, 2022 Wow, HK is the most paranoid by far. The transmission of the covid virus is human to human. I dont think it harms animals. Anyway here's a website that says that there is no need for culling. https://www.worldanimalprotection.ca/news/everything-you-need-know-about-coronavirus-and-pets There is no evidence that pets can be a source of infection to other animals or humans. We highly recommend all pet owners take care of their animals and keep calm. Pets shouldn't be abandoned under any circumstance and, as always, there's absolutely no need for culling.

Beregond Supersonic January 19, 2022 Share January 19, 2022 I think we should be the last 1 to laugh at this, Instead i give HK authority 👍for taking decisive action, ppl forgot europe cull millions of minks because of cov scare. Look at our ownself, everything also aimai aimai ( how many cases yesterday ?) other then 2-5, 2-5 booster , booster and more booster , we didnt take any decisive step at all.

Humans just keep sucking away Earth's resources and did nothing to contribute back to the eco system except to maybe planting a few trees here and there. ↡ Advertisement
