The  best way to fight against all these malware scams is to use hardware tokens to generate the PIN for 2FA log-in and fund transfers. The hardware token obviously does not reside inside the phone and is a secure way to prevent malware scams.

But people say the hardware tokens are cumbersome and if they spoil or run out of batt, people has to go back to the banks to ask for another one.

However, banks now introduced new lock-up accounts which also require people to go to the bank to do withdrawal or transfer.

Lock up acct has its inconvenience but it is a good way to protect people's investment. Agree with your view about hw token, maybe banks should reintroduce that.

Maybe banks can introduce a 2nd phone number for approval and that phone number can only be changed in a branch. Would this be safer ?

Dunno if fb should be accountable to allow such ads? One might say it is impossible for fb to fish out these scammers but still....

Anyway, after so many news still got scammed. It's really dunno what to say.

Best way is to uninstall fb. 🤣but I agree to use hardware token for transaction.

Having the 2FA on a 2nd device is definitely safer but not everyone has a 2nd phone line as there is a  subscription cost to it.

Yes, and even better is don't even start or use any social media acc. for personal use.
