Apparently bizfile website allows search of people's name and can see their NRIC number.. so easy for scammers to get NRIC numbers..

Think all biz owners NRIC are exposed.. don't even need to login to search.. let's see if ACRA will plug this hole..

I just received a call from a so called shopee customer service SA saying I have signed up for an insurance policy with unionpay. And that if I continue, I will have to pay a few hundred dollars.... Else I have to cancel by today. The caller even sent me a policy number !! And said he wuf submit my cancellation and that a unionpay staff will call me later to cfm

Anyone received such a call before? I have checked the scam shield website and it does have such a modis operandi.

Received a few calls from +1 (USA) almost the same tactics. Ang mo with perfect English, mentioning they detected I was trying to withdraw fund from my investment account. Wanted me to provide them with more of my personal details for authorization b4 I can withdraw. I did not want to waste time with the conversation and hung up immediately.

Scammer now smarter, use ang mo instead of Indian, Pinoy, PRC to scam. :D

Gov now saying that NRIC is not sensitive data... Tmd, and we spent so much effort to mask NRIC numbers in systems..

Ya that time had to change all our login ids from nric and mask all nric numbers in our systems...wasted so much time! 😠

I won't bother to pick up.

Even whatsapp calls from couriers I usually don't pick up, until they sent photos of parcels in front of my place! [laugh]
