LKY prize money for winning is USD120k, less tax. I hope that the Tote Board sports fund will give him more. So that he can share with his team and association. When Joseph Schooling got the $1 mio, 20% went to the Swimmng Assn.

Since the era of LD and LCW there is no badminton men single player able to perform consistently at top level. Today top players are the like of Momoto, Viktor, Chou Tien Chen etc. and now LKY.

In the past, the like of Yang Yang, Zhao Jianhua , Morten frost, Icuk Sugiarto, Rashid Sidek etc reigned the world badminton in  the 90s. Yang Yang retired at his peak.

Afterward the like of Alan Budi Kusuma, Peter Gade, Taufik Hidayat etc took over. Taufik is one of the most gifted player especially his backhand. Sometimes he will performed backhand smash from baseline and caught his opponent off guard. Afterward LD and LCW took over and reigning the world men singles for almost a decade.

Hope LKY can consistently maintain his top playing form. At 24 of age he is at peak of physical prowess. But his insane speed probably won’t last that long. He probably will switch to more tactical game and strategy to win over his opponent in years to come.

correct!! just look at Kidambi.....4 years ago he was at the height of his game, deceptive, beautiful strokes, and power and speed all together and gave LD, CL, LCW a run for their money!! but now as he aged, he is playing a tactical game with deception...if he continue to play a fast attacking game...I don't think he could last the pace and if the match had gone to 3 games, he would be a spent force. Not forgetting he had a tough semi as well.

for LKY, the next 2-3 years is critical for him....build on his base of speed and power for now, and then switch to tactical as he age.....just look at LD....when he came out and won his 1st AE...is all power and speed....and you look at him in his last few years, is all tactic and deception...

we all age, so we need to blend in and use our strong points against opponents who are younger and faster...🤣

i hope sponsors start coming in and SBA have the funds to send our younger players to more tournaments....Only way to expose them to a higher level of play..

Consistently maintain his top playing form very important and also not easy. You see what happened to Schooling after his Olympic gold medal? 😂
